Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

My three little boys have destroyed nearly every blind on the first floor. They are all paper and very easy to tear. Between flying objects, crayons and dirty fingers, we need to replace all of them…

Seriously though. We live on the second level of a four-plex. Our neighbors to the back like to Our backyard neighbors have a nightly ritual of dressing down into their “pajamas” and sitting around an old table surrounded by tiki torches in their backyard. Our bedroom window allows us to witness this every night, as well as allows them to see into our bedroom window. It’s a no-win situation! Some blinds would really be wonderful!

    BLIND ME!

We just moved into our new (older) house and had to rip down all the blinds because they were so dated and gross! We just found out we’re having a baby, and I’d really prefer the neighbors to not be able to see into the nursery when I’m up at all hours of the night! :)

BLIND ME! I would LOVE to get a shade for my bedroom window that I can pull down from the top. The window is large and faces the street, so anyone walking by could see in if I had the shade open. So, I never open it and it is dark in there. I would love to let in some light with a top-down shade!

    BLIND ME!

September 09′ My husband and I moved into our first home.
Its the perfect house for us with lots of windows and light.

One of the best windows in our little home is the large picture window in our master bedroom.

In the spring, the window (complete with linen window bench) looks out onto a lush and vibrant pink crepe myrtle tree.

This tree is so pretty, and lovely from the window that it was one of the reasons we decided to buy the house.

The thing is, in the winter when when the tree has lost its leaves and lovely pink petals our bedroom is in direct view from our neighbors back yard.

Thus, our view of the lovely pink tree is replaced from November-March by the view the ugly 90’s metal mini blinds that came with our house in order to avoid our neighbors being BLINDed by the sight of ME changing.

I’d love a more sophisticated set of blinds to show off, provide privacy, and frame our view.

    Please help!

    :-)
