Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!!!

I am desperate for some kitchen shades! On my days off I tend to walk around in my bath towel until noon (time fly when you’re having fun), which means I either go hungry or my entire neighborhood can watch me and my parade :) I’d like to spare them.

No neighbors, so covering up isn’t that much of a problem. Still, I’d like to have a better solution for our Master Bath. I have a cheap-o rolling vinyl blind that I bought from WalMart before our first night in the house, and it is so not cute.

BLIND ME! I would use these blinds in my new baby room. You see, my husband and I are waiting to adopt a baby. We don’t have the official ok yet, but are praying and hoping for it soon! We’ve been chosen, but unoffically. We wouldn’t want the pesky neighbors looking in on our sweet, precious baby!

    Blind Me!

We just moved into a condo in Santa Monica (woohoo!). Blinds were our first investment, but those suckers are ex-PEN-sive so we’ve not been able to cover all the windows yet. Our bedroom has the most obscurely shaped windows above a sliding glass door that I’d just love to put some blinds in (instead of window film bc. it lets in too much light). It’s straight eye-shot to our neighboring buildings walkway. Yikes.

BLIND ME! After moving into our new house a few months ago, we had to custom order blinds for our family room because of irregular sized windows. This wasn’t so bad, except for in the evenings, when it’s dark outside and we’re watching the tube, we knew every time the men next door had to pee as we’d see their bathroom light flip on and a shadow of them standing for 1 minute in front of their stained glass window. Gross.

    BLIND ME!

The view I need to block is the view INSIDE to my living room. We have an eight foot picture window on street level which apparently gave the little neighborhood boys a front-row show of my wedding first-dance practice with the fiance.

The next day the little tween gang rode by on their bikes making smooching sounds and grabbing their backs imitating a make-out scene. Ha!

My husband and I just bought our first house! It’s lovely but he really wants to put some blinds up because anybody could come by and peek in our windows…and we live in an urban environment…and well, we need some privacy. So while we love the view from our place in the city we don’t want everyone viewing us. ;-)

We have NO blinds on our house. Though we do not have close neighbors, the sun cuts through our home like a spotlight in the evenings. It’d be nice to be able to close some blinds when that happens.

I’m glad that we have blinds pretty much everywhere, but especially the bedroom. Our apartment is adjoining to a house, and where EVERYONE parks is right in front of our bedroom and living room are. But even though we already have blinds, some of them could use an update!
