Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!

I would love some new blinds for my master bedroom – we just finished a mini-makeover but ran out of money before new window treatments.

    BLIND ME!

The previous owners of our home let the condensation reserve from the AC unit that was up in the attic just fill up and over and leak down the side of our master bedroom window. Not so bad until pan rusted and the rusty water also stained the window pane and side of the house. Nasty.

    BLIND ME!!!

We moved into our first house just 2 months ago. Our front window is a bay window with no window treatments at all – talk about a fishbowl. It’s a project we expected to finish before our first baby arrived, but now it looks like the whole neighborhood will be watching us learn all about parenthood.

I’d love to have the option to cover my kitchen window – we have a nosy neighbor who just loves to “happen” to peek inside – supposedly to see if my cat is ok…. but we all know it’s because he’d just LOVE to get some good gossip on us!

BLIND ME! I don’t necessarily want to cover any of the views out my windows (we’re blessed with pretty great views), but rather would love a shade or blind to lower on sunny, bright days to reduce the glare from the very large window in our living room that happens to be opposite our television.

We don’t have houses on each side of us – we have one directly in front and up a hill, and another diagonal up a hill. The one in front is directly in front of our bedroom windows. Those curtains have to stay shut all the time, lest the neighbors are, ahem, blinded. :-)

We have a tiny master bathroom so in order to make it seem bigger, I guess the builders put floor to ceiling windows along one entire wall. Not only that, but the wall faces the family room window of our neighbors 10 feet away! Needless to say, we’d like to keep that window covered.

I’d love to switch up our living room blinds. We live on a highway in a town of 200 so people speed by and aren’t really peeking in our windows…so I’ve become a little lazy with how I’m dressed to walk around the house, haha! I try to be better when it’s dark because I know you can see in but some blackout shades might be appropriate. :)

We live on a golf course and have four huge windows that look out onto it. The golf cart path goes right behind our backyard and it creeps me out that if someone hits a ball close to our house that they feel like it’s totally ok to circle our fence until they find a $0.25 ball! I’d like to hide from them with some new blinds :)
