Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!

I have a patio/room (similar to yours but with next door neighbors) i would love a nicer looking, privacy providing blind to keep the neighrbors from waving at my while I’m sitting there in my PJ’s.

Our current bamboo blinds are pretty much see through in the daylight.

BLIND ME!! Our full length bathroom window is in full view of the neighborhood park that sits behind our house – not cool. so we have some craptastic blinds up now that get the job done in providing privacy, but they are U-G-L-Y without an alibi :/ i hope i win!!!! :)

We added on a new bedroom that gets lots of great light. Unfortunately, one of the windows looks right at our trash storage. I’d love some plantation shutters to mask it!

Blind Me! I think I probably qualify as the thing that people didn’t want to see. Two apartments ago, our bedroom window looked right into another apartment. I guess I knew they could see me, but didn’t care too much. My husband, on the other hand, totally cared.

Blind me! We were just discussing this last weekend! Our views are of our neighbors neglected yard/house, or of the street – so we try to cover our windows all of the time. We wish we backed up to green space so we could never have to hide our view!

I would cover our HUGE living room window because currently it has a shower curtain over it :( The view isn’t too bad, my grandparents home is actually across the street, but the shower curtain really needs to go.

Or our bathroom window, because our bathroom window faces the neighbors kitchen window. In the summer we could never open our bathroom window for fear they catch a glimpse of our bare butts while doing their dishes. ::blushes::

    Please?

We have FOUR windows, side by side in the master bedroom. Gorgeous- yes.
    Curtained- yes.
    Drafty? YES.

And did I mention the 3-headed Lamppost that comes on as soon as the sun goes down, right outside that window. Our neighborhood planners must have thought that lampposts looked better than streetlamps. I’ve been trying to talk the husband into splurging on blinds to help insulate the windows- but, so far, he hasn’t agreed.

(We actually had a sodium-vapor lamppost in the BACKyard that we had no way of turning off, until we called the power company to cut the vapor they were charging us for. Standing out there by itself, it looks just like the Narnia lamppost.)

I need blinds everywhere, especially my master bedroom. They were have been there from when we purchased our home. I believe they were originally white, although are slightly yellow now with many broken pieces. My kitchen needs the too as we currently have nothing there, which would be good privacy for us and to spare us viewing our backyard neighbors!
