Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!

We have an awesome bay window in our apartment with 8′ high windows, but they’re covered by nasty aluminum blinds! If it weren’t for the fact that we’re renting, we would have invested in some custom blinds long ago. This giveaway makes it worth it!

Oh, and I just realized I didn’t answer the question…we live in an urban city so said bay window looks right out onto the busy street and neighbor’s brownstone. Gotta give ourselves some privacy!

Our neighbors to the right have an adult son with a brain injury. He often sits at the window in his house that faces our house and waves to us as we’re eating dinner… throughout the entire dinner! He’s just about as sweet as could be, but we have found ourselves leaving those windows’ blinds closed more frequently.

BLIND ME!! We’ve been searching for months for some kind of window treatment for our kitchen door that leads to our breezeway. It kinda creeps me out at night…I’m waiting for the night when I turn around and there’s a face in the window! Ahhhh! I’d rather have any peeping faces covered by some nice roman shades :)

    BLIND ME!!!

Our kitchen window looks right into a hydrangea bush. It’s about six feet tall, eight feet around, and grows literally a foot away from the window. I guess that is actually the opposite of a window needing covered but it certainly is a strange view.

P.S. Our complex won’t let us trim the bush :(

I have a second story foyer window that is UNCOVERED !

It opens/looks on to the hallway on the second floor. Since it’s a 2nd story window over the foyer with no walk-up access we have never covered it – in 16 years !! I didn’t want to get on a ladder or have my husband try to do it either.

I would LOVE for Next Day Blinds to custom cover my 2nd story foyer window, PLEASE !!

    Thank you.

I have temporary blinds (read “paper ones from Lowe’s) hanging in my dining room to block my back-door neighbors’ view into my house. I’m waiting for my mom to make me some top-down/bottom-up roman shades, but I’m in line behind my sister’s THREE rooms of curtains, so it could be a while!
