Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    “BLIND ME!”

I would like to cover the window to my living room. On most nights right before bed , my son likes to dance. He’s 2.5 and loves dancing to clubbing music. Most nights I’m forced to dance with him. So I would like to cover that BIG window so people don’t see me making a fool out of myself. =)

Definitely our side living room windows that are directly across from our neighbors’ kitchen window. She likes to do her dishes and stare at us. It’s a tad disconcerting.

We have these two big windows that face the oncoming street, so head lights shine right in our window and I swear right into our bed room. Sure would love to cover those!

    BLIND ME!

We are still using the grungy old blinds that the former owner of our house left behind (we bought and moved in this past summer). We just haven’t found what we’re looking for yet. I’d love some top down/bottom up blinds for our bedroom – especially b/c we can see right across into our neighbor’s house! It would be nice to block that view.

BLIND ME! I’ve wanted to add 2″ faux wood blinds to my living room and guest room forever, but the windows are such odd sizes that they all have to be custom-made and I just haven’t had the budget to get them. This would be an awesome win!

    BLIND ME!

A little story for you, when I was 16 my family moved to small town of less than 2000 people. My parents bought an old house {built in 1868} and completely restored it. We were something of an anomaly and people from the town would often just walk up, knock and ask for a tour. Anyways one night at dinner at the DQ {Dairy Queen, of course} my parents introduced me to an elderly couple that they and my sister had already met before. I held out my hand and told them it was a pleasure to meet them to which the husband replied “oh we’ve never met but my wife and I’ve seen you when we drive by and look in your windows at night.”

    True story.

Good blinds would ensure that I would NEVER have to go through that again.

BLIND ME! Our bedroom window and the door to our TINY bathroom looks out onto an elementary school! BLIND ME PLEASE! My hubby and I built our dream home 2 years ago – with 8 foot windows lining the entire back of the house – not realizing that detail of our dream home would have made more sence overlooking a lake or beautiful landscaping and not the back of our subdivisions construction lot :( We purchased the 2″ plantation blinds and started to hang them when we realized the stark white blinds next to our “linen white” aka off white trim made our trim look dingy.. so we brought the blinds back and 2 years later, we still no window coverings :(

I definitely typed that as BLING ME the first time… I would really love to cover my 8ft tall by 5 ft wide loft windows (there are two of them) from top to bottom (regular curtains don’t come in those sizes, imagine that). I’m thinking roller shades, or roman shades. The parking deck patrons across the street (and the expensive cameras attached to it) don’t really need access to my daily goings-on!!

BLIND ME! The house I lived in all through college was in a beautiful historic neighborhood that has quite a bit of foot traffic. The windows on one side of the house were literally three feet from the sidewalk that people were walking along all the time. Thankfully, I had a generous landlord who splurged for blinds that could either lower from the top or be raised from the bottom, so that we could enjoy both privacy and sunlight.
