Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

BLIND ME! The blinds in our master bathroom are about 4 inches too short, so every time I take a shower or bath, especially at night, I get nervous. I’m pretty sure no neighbors could see in with the angle they’d be looking from (geometry, don’t fail me now!) but still, it’s disconcerting. :)

We are in the process of putting fresh new blinds up in our entire house after removing the outdated verticle blinds that have plagued us for years!

I don’t have any bad views from my windows…A school yard across the street with all the cute kiddos. How could that be a bad view?

Blind me! My neighbors around the corner leave their back light on and it keeps us up at night. I need blinds that keep their light in, but still show off the windows that I framed myself – and did a darn good job on!

We’re replaced most of our windows in our 1930’s row house but there are 4 left that could definitely use a nice covering to distract from their less than fresh condition!

Our two spare rooms face the street. They only have curtains on them right now because they are very long and skinny, so they’ll need custom blinds – which are way our of our price range! Would love to have more solid privacy from the walking neighbors!

We lived overseas in large city a few years back. It was a tropical area so windows were thrown open each day to let in any breeze that could be had. By evening we realized the importance of closed windows curtains as we saw our neighbors standing outside of and peeking through our front window (which pretty much looked through all of the main areas of the house). Talk about feeling like you live in a fishbowl!

I would love to block the view of the neighbors in the townhouse behind us on the top floor. The woman’s globe collection drives me insane, as that is what I collect myself. So many globes in such proximity (that I can’t have) drives me batty. :)

BLIND ME! From our bedroom, we can see our neighbors’ house. They’ve remodeled the outside of their house to look like some sort of fort. It’s HIDEOUS, and probably cost them a ton of money. Luckily their house faces another street (our backyards are connected), so we don’t see quite as much as their next-door neighbors.

BLIND ME! Our new-ish house has absolutely no window treatments still! lol! So this would be absolutely wonderful! Our last home was in military housing and I had our first baby. During those first few months I was desperate to have natural light in the house but couldn’t because realistically I was in a robe a lot and/or my boobs (don’t worry, never both at the same time) were hanging out as I was getting the hang of nursing. We had kids that ran through our backyard to get to the nearby park and school bus stop, plus every other window looked almost directly into someone else’s house. What a nightmare, but I definitely laugh about it now! :D
