Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

I’d like to cover the windows in my bedroom. I’m tired of turning off all the lights when I want to change my clothes, even though it’s likely all the neighbors have already seen me naked…ugh.

    BLIND ME!!

The powder room on my main floor has a window that looks out the front of my house, with a nice view of the parking lot. When I first moved in, the blinds were broken so anyone parking their car could look right in! I have a cheap-o curtain on there now but some functioning blinds would be wonderful :)

    BLIND ME!

We have a little 1 year old who is not a fan of napping when he can see any light and I’d love to help him out with blinds!
Our worst view was when we lived in a condo, and all our neighbors were elderly and retired, and very very nosy..

Growing up my bedroom was in the basement (1/2 above ground) and my window faced the driveway and was at the perfect level for any car that drove up to see right in with their headlights. I have never loved blinds more!

    BLIND ME!

We recently bought a condo from a 93 year old woman. The complex walkway is right outside our kitchen window, and apparently the woman who lived here before us liked to hang out by the window and greet the neighbors as they walked by. Now, when we have the blinds open, the neighbors (out of habit, most likely) look into our kitchen…!

BLIND ME! The corner windows in our bathroom that overlook the road and neighbors — finally covered but taking showers in the guest room for the first few weeks in the house was annoying.

We did have a friend, however, who was one of the first to move into condos under construction. One day he looked up as he left for work to discover that the one way/mirrored “they can’t see in” window in their shower was apparently defective or misinstalled. He rushed up to get his wife covered up and then they covered the window with tin foil under the contractor could get back in to fix it. I like blinds: you know they are working.

I recently purchased my 64Rancher with two big lovely windowns in the kitchen however the lady next to me who owns the mirror image of it doesnt have any window coverings on her big lovely windows! YIKES!!! I work hard to keep my dishes clean and keep my counter free of clutter, but she isnt holding up her end of the bargain, so that had to change! I bought pulldown cellular blinds and love them, now I need them in the rest of the house!! :)

PS, love your blog and congrats on the impending changes!

Our only window (and it’s a large, double window) looks out onto our neighbors’ side yard. They’ve been doing quite a bit of work to their back yard, which means that they’ve put an old rusty swingset in the aforementioned side yard. But it’s not just sitting there; It’s half on the roof of the garage (which is low to the ground at that spot) and half on the ground, leaning in a precarious (and ugly) fashion. Every time I look out the window, I’m bummed that it’s still there (and it’s been there for a good three months or so now). Oh how I’d love a way to cover that view while still letting in a bit of light…

luckily our next door neighbors just bought a shade for their bathroom, but soon after we moved in we were hanging out outside with some friends and looked up to see their son (highschool) sitting in the bathroom doing his business and listening to us (window opened, elbow up on the window sill listening and watching us). another time we saw him in there also going to the bathroom, brushing his teeth etc…guess he didn’t realize when it’s dark outside it’s even easier to see inside your nicely lit bathroom!
