Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!!
Our master bedroom has 2 windows, 1 faces our neighbors house. We can’t have a high fence so I never feel comfortable opening the blinds or window (and it’s window season on the gulf coast!) This would allow us to finally open that lovely window!!!

BLIND ME! We just moved into a new house and the first windows we had to cover were those in our back room b/c they show the path from the bathroom to the bedroom and the neighbors had a crew putting on an addition to their house just outside those windows!

Eek!! I would love this!! I don’t currently have an unsightly view, but in college, my neighbor was also the naked guy and his favorite past time was walking around naked and then playing the tuba…naked.

We loved the fact that our new house has big–long–windows… However, have you ever tried to buy window treatments for 7 foot wide windows? How about 9 foot? Yeah, were not that rich. Currently our baby has two old sheets blocking the beautiful views of the mountains. It would be lovely to get window coverings that actually worked.

BLIND ME! Both of our apartments in Boston had windows in the shower. Why would you do that? It’s cold, it’s hard to keep the windows and sills clean (especially if they’re wood and you have to also keep them dry) and your neighbors can see your unmentionables!

BLIND ME! I’d love to use them for the guest room I’m making over at my parents’ house because A. 2/3 windows look directly into the neighbors’ house and B. one of the windows is this funny sized mini-thing, that’s never been covered correctly. I’d love to use the custom shades to fix that issue!

    BLIND ME!!

The designers of our home back in the 80’s, decided that it would be nice to take a nice relaxing bath while looking out our front yard and into the street. It’s such a nuisance because I like letting the light in, but I hate walking in before I take a shower and accidentally undressing before realizing the window is still not covered! Bathrooms + open windows is not a good design!!

We really need window coverings on the windows of our (newly re-done) den. The room is street level and you can see right in at night which kind of freaks us out. Needless to say, we haven’t been spending much time down there to watch TV, but now that the colder weather is coming and we will be spending lots of quality time with our couch, we really need to stop dragging our feet! The timing of this post in uncanny! :-)
