Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

I’M BOARD with the graduate school stipend that’s cramping my DIY style! I lucked into a quirky 1940’s 1 bedroom apartment that expanded my former 12×12 living space to include (miracle of miracles!) a HALLWAY. It may be a tiny L-shape, but it’s my tiny L-shape, and it’s brimming with potential. The far wall is made up entirely of crisp white built-in cabinets, and my $3 garage sale Persian carpet is already in place. Innovative lighting would be truly transformative in this space/my existence. Select this entry to provide both an aesthetic and budgetary breath of fresh air.

I’m board with the chandelier we have had hanging in my dining room for the last five years. That is what you get when you let your husband pick out your lighting. I would love a new light fixture. The room that I would most like to illuminate in my house is my family room.

Hello! I’m not actually trying to win this contest (as I’m in Australia), but I was wondering if you could help out a poor DIY girl? I would love to have some of these pendant shades hanging around the house – I absolutely love them!! But alas, I cannot afford the price tag. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to get cash, I’m more looking for your DIY advice. Since you two (four!) always manage to try out different things with general success, do you think you could try making a round shade such as the ones in this post?? I REALLY want to make one (to save the moolah), but I just don’t have the DIY mind to help me out! Please please please!! :)

    Cheers,
    Amanda

“I’M BOARD” and … i am the proud owner of one brass light fixture. Since moving into my 20 year old home, i’ve been working my way through the rooms getting rid of everything gold & shiny. If I got this pendant, it would be the perfect ending to my last not-so-hip light fix.

The death of the brass fixture – – ah, sweetness.
