Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

I’m Board and definately need better lighting in our family room. We have no ceiling light, just lamps. Much too dark in there. My husband calls it our romantic mood lighting.

I’M BOARD I would love to lighten up our living room space with a gorgeous light like the ones displayed. My husband and I just bought our first home and are enjoying putting things together and in the “right” spot. Our living room has no overhead lighting, we have a floor lamp that works pretty good right now, but with one of those fresh and clean lights I am sure our living room will always be bright and cheery! PS, I LOVE YOUR BLOG :) I swear I look on here at least 10x a day!!!

“I’M BOARD” My Mr and I purchased a 1890 Moravian style double in a Historis town he likes things crisp and clean but the one light fxture spoke to me. I have dreams of changing around the most sacred room in my home the kitchen. He has his own thoughts on the subject one of these fixtures would speak volumes for our dining area to the one side of out hub.

I’M BOARD not being able to see properly to read on the couch after dusk. Our loft is lacking in places for an overhead lamp, but one of these pendants on a long cord with a switch would fix that problem neatly. :)

I’m board! We have a lovely 100-year old Queen Anne that we’re slowly, slowly making our own (though it’s pretty rockin’ without our help!) and this means a million bedrooms for just me and my man. One of which, we have made into a dressing-room which feels weird and luxurious all at once. With one lame overhead light, the room’s illumination ain’t the best. And though there are 2 windows, it’s at the back of the house, and only gets the late afternoon/evening light. Of course, a dressing room cries out for great lighting!

I’M BOARD with the ugly brass ceiling fan/light fixture over my dining room table. It’s truly awful. This pendant light would be a huge improvement.

I would pick my closet to be brighter. It’s just a reach in, but it has *no* light at all and the bedroom lights just don’t get there.

I could use some more illumination in my bathroom. 1 small north facing window in a climate with <8 hrs of winter daylight… hidden by the bathroom door when open. Ech.
