Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

I’m board and live in a house with extremely poor lighting! I would love to brighten up my master bedroom. It’s dark paneling and built in bookshelves. I have more bookshelves than closet space. But since I have more books than clothes that could be a good thing I guess. That 1 small window just isn’t cutting it though.

I’M BOARD and this would be perfect in one of our downstairs bedrooms that are currently home to faux-recessed lighting circa 1960 that seem to love to house dead bugs no matter how many times we clean them. Time for an upgrade!

I’M BOARD! :) First time commenter (i think), long time reader! I absolutely have to get in on this…even though at this point there’s maybe a 1 in 4400 chance I’m going to win. But it’s worth a try, right? We are expecting our first in March, and I’m thinking a new pendant is just what we need to complete our nursery! Fingers crossed!

I’m board…or I’m bored. Either one describes how I feel about the lighting in my dining room. Just an ordinary, everyday, uninspiring three light chandie over my dining room table. It could so use a new look!!!

I’M BOARD, especially now that we’ve downsized and moved to a smaller place. Our new place is surrounded by beautiful, tall trees with a running creek but we just don’t get enough light. It’s been terrible since we moved in April. I can’t imagine how dark it’s going to be once we lose the sun to winter. I’d love to have lighting in my dining area, living room and the dark cave of our place….the bedroom.

I’M BOARD and would adore having more light in our bedroom. It’s so dreary in there that it’s not a very pleasant place to spend time, which is a shame since it’s large enough that it could be a place to read or relax in addition to a place to sleep. Two tiny windows up super high on the west side of the house doesn’t do much for us!

I’M BOARD and I’d love to have more light in our weird hallway room. We rent a 2 bedroom apartment but it has one small bedroom, one enormous bedroom, and one tiny living room, so we made the second bedroom the living room, leaving what would be the living room as a weird sort of huge hallway. We keep books there and would love to read in there, but the room is in the center of the house and has no windows!
