Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

Our family room for sure. The room is fairly large with cathedral ceilings and it desperately needs more lighting to make it brighter.

I’m Board! And I’m seriously, utterly in love with R&B (always have been). So you can bet your bippy I’d enter this one! :)

I would totally use this in my kitchen. I have an old, came-with-the-house original brass chandelier over our kitchen table and we recently painted it. So a fabulous new pendant would be just the thing to make it look spiffy!! Thanks!

    I am bored!

Our master bedroom could really use a makeover! When we moved into our current house, EVERY room was covered with wallpaper. Our master bedroom is the last remaining wallpapered room that is left. We have been living with THREE different patterns of wallpaper in one room. They even wallpapered the ceiling and they didn’t match the seams. And the best part is. . . wait for it. . . wait for it. . . .there is a wallpaper border with pigs on it!

We have an IKEA shade over our dining table, but it is pretty plain. I would love to change it up for something more snazzy.

My living room is so dark, the window is practically on the sidewalk, and I felt pressured into buying blackout curtains after a passing pedestrian watched television with me through the window. It was pretty creepy. I would love to bring some stylish non-natural light to the place.

If I could pick any room to illuminate, it would my our living room. We live in a town house and have a long skinny living room that gets no light from the sides. We’ve repainted a lighter color, added a ceiling fan with light, and lots of white curtains, but it is still fairly cavelike at night.

I would figure out a way to illuminate our upstairs hallway… there are not true windows to speak of (the only one is on a landing halfway down the stairs) and a poorly placed Air conditioning vent/attic door prevents us from placing ample lighting in the middle of the hallway… ahh! The quirks of an 80-year-old house!
