We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).
Here are the deets:
- PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I’d love to illuminate our dining room. I was just reading a book that was talking about being hospitable in your home. In essence, when we let people into hour home, we let them into our life.
Our dining room is dark and bare which doesn’t reflect our personality at all. We love to cook and have people over. We just haven’t figured out how to make the space feel like “us” since we have a little kiddo running around.
Lauren F. says
I’M BOARD!!!!
It would definitely be my kitchen. It’s the only room that doesn’t get afternoon light so its always so dark.

I would love to have my front hall way and foyer flooded with light. There is very little natural light and it definitly needs a new fixture!

If I could pick any room in my house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, it would be my kitchen. Most people have loads of light in theirs but I have one window facing a driveway full of older cars and a straight view from our neighbors to us… We tend to keep the blinds shut which just kills me because it feels like a cave with only one small ceiling light and one little guy over the sink. Another light would be AMAZING!
Ana says
I’M BOARD! I’d love to lighten up and liven up our dining room. With no windows in sight, it is definitely our most challenging room!
Beth Ann says
I’M BOARD!
I always complain about our bedroom closet not having enough light. We desperately need to do something about it…but I wouldn’t hide one of these beautiful pendants in there!

Sara says

My dining room.
Tabitha Harwell says
I’m Board….
I would LOVE to add more natural and artificial light to our basement/living room. The original owners of the house we bought transformed the original living room into a dining room (and used the dining room to expand the kitchen) so…..our only living space is the basement, which is big, finished and very lovely but there isn’t anything “cool” with the lighting.
Jessica says

My living room… Somehow we ended up with a fully wired overhead light in every room… EXCEPT the living room. Which also happens to be underground and the windows that would be great for giving light are behind two big bushes. Urgh.

Our master bedroom needs some serious magic–it’s an enourmous room, with only two windows–east and north–and placed in strange corners, at that. My husband and I keep puzzling where to knock holes in the walls/roof for the best effect…
