Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

I would lighten up my coset. It’s currently too dark for me to tell my navy blues from blacks and browns… that’s a problem…

“I’m Board” I would prance around in delight if I was lucky enough to snag an awesome pendant light for my fixer-upper 1930’s home. It’s a work in progress. One area that could use some light? Hum, hard to pick just one… But the closets upstairs are more like caves than closets, I wouldn’t mind actually being able to see what I have in there!

    I’M BOARD!!

If I caould more light in any room, it would absolutely be my bedroom!! There’s no overhead light in there now (we plan to add one when we re do the room). And we live in a neiborhood where the houses are close together, so I have to keep the curtians drawn for privacy. I hate, hate, hate the lack of light in there!

The Living Room… our ’55 ranch has no overhead lighting in the livingroom. We have a massive IKEA arc lamp to try to simulate an overhead light, but it is majorly falling short of the bar! Eventually we’ll probably add some can lights (the ceilings are also too low to have any really cool fixtures in that particular space).

My bedroom – it has no natural light since I have to keep the blinds closed and there are no light fixtures in there! One lamp is not making the grade….

…with my guest bedroom! It’s like a cave. The previous owners hung a ceiling fan without a light fixture. We are dying to swap it out with some kind of pendant light.

Oh. My. Gosh. I have been oohing and ahhing over one of these for YEARS. Galbraith & Paul is one of my very favorite fabric designers and these lamps have been on the ‘Oh I wish I could’ list for as long as I can possibly remember.

I would love to liven up our new nursery with a beautiful light from Room & Board!! Or perhaps the dining room?

We have this tiny little room in the back of our house that badly needs to be made over into a office/guest room and then eventually a baby room, and it would be perfect for that little room.

I’d probably light up our living room! Since we’re currently in the last year of living in an apartment with no ceiling lighting, our living room is always so drab and dark unless we use the lights from the kitchen to illuminate it!

I adore Room and Board! I would love to illuminate our new baby’s room with their amazing lighting! He’ll be here in about five weeks and that would make an amazing update for his unfinished nursery! We’ve been repairing a terrible slab leak under our master bathroom and remodeling that room for the past few weeks. The sink and vanity has been sitting in the middle of his room-to-be, holding up all progress on his vintage varsity themed room! (Not to mention, making me a little crazy, since we’ve been remodeling the whole house since January.) A win would make my 9th month more bearable! :)
