We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).
Here are the deets:
- PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I would definitely choose my kitchen, with more light there could be a dramatic reduction in the number of culinary ‘accidents’ that have occurred as of late.

Ironically we just had a light installed in our dining room TODAY – or I would have immediately said that room. So now I would have to say the master bedroom. We have one tiny little nightstand light so it gets pretty dark in there.

I’M BOARD…. I’d love to have more light in my living room. All I have is illuminated plant shelves and the light from the kitchen that shines in… terrible!

I would love to light up our family room with a pendant lamp. It has a cathedral ceiling and is plenty bright during the day, but at night it is quite dim, mostly because one whole wall is devoted to bookshelves and we haven’t had the time or the money to do tastful bookshelf lighting.

I would love to lighten up our living room. All the other rooms in our house have an overhead light except for the living room. This giveaway just made me realize how dark it does get in there – think I should start shopping for a new lamp!

Our bedroom could use more light. We live in an awesome studio with large windows, but most of the light doesn’t reach our bedroom. There’s old, ugly track lighting that illuminates horribly so we use our two nightstand lamps instead. I’ve actually been trying to find a super cheap and cute pendant light since it would fit the space amazingly.

My closet! Of course, what I really want is a window in a closet, no matter what size the closet is. I think it lends a certain romantic quality to a space – especially if it’s a closet. But I’d take a fancier light fixture in one anyway, at the least.
Landry Sheppard says
I’m on board! I need to light up my basement :)

I’M BOARD! (oh so very bored at work!)
I am choosing my “office” (aka the current junk room). I’ve been living in my first house for over a year now and have had ZERO motivation to clean out and make that room a proper office. This lovely new pendant light would give me that push (ok, shove) to get on the ball!

I desperately need more light in my living room… there is only one can light on a switch which doesn’t do much. We have lots of floor lamps but it sure is a pain to have to turn them all on and off all the time for a room we use so much.
Michaela says
I’m board … with the boring outdated light fixtures in the house we’ll be closing on in a few weeks. Let there be light! Well, one for the open livingroom-diningroom combo at least :o)
Ashley says

We do not have a light over our kitchen sink! Our sink looks through an arched opening into the living. One of these lights would be perfect to add lighting and color to that space. The arch would frame it perfectly too!
Christine B says

I would have to add lighting to one of our guest rooms since the extra rooms didnt come with overhead lighting. Who knew overhead lighting was so hard to come by?
