Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

My mom wants this so bad – we need a new dining room lamp. Ours is very old and is one of those antique ones that extend down from the ceiling. Soounds cool, but it isn’t. It’s ugly. And Old. (did I already say OLD???)

My bedroom or dining room… neither have lighting. We use a floor lamp in the dining area, and the closet light for the bedroom– :)

I’M BOARD … and bored by my boob light in the kitchen. I pendant would be lovely!

I would love to magically illuminate all of our closets, none of which have any lighting now. For fun, I would love to magically illuminate my husband’s music studio to make the basement next to the laundry room seem more like an attic space in the trees.

The room the needs the most light is definently my soon-to-be craft room in the basement. Right now all we have are these really old floresent light fixtures that tend to blink on and off all the time.

We most definitely are in serious need of light in our dining room. We still have the original ’40’s light fixture that I couldn’t part with when we moved in 4 years ago, when we were newlywed. Unfortunately, my husband and I can barely see eachother over dinner….and we’re wayy beyond romantic dinners EVERY NIGHT!!

“I’M BOARD” … I would definitely update my “weird room” … it’s a little room off the front entry that leads to a small office, and it gets it’s only natural light from a skylight. Makes you feel as if a UFO is landing in the room … just one big lit up disc in the ceiling! Just awful! A big pendant with a wonderful graphic design would surely brighten up this room and help me figure out a new name and purpose for this room — “weird room” (while catchy) just isn’t working for me anymore.

    p.s. love your blog!

Magically light up a room? I’d have to go with my bathroom …. it’s light enough for the bare minimum, but horrible for putting on makeup, etc! And with no natural lighting at all, it’s the most in need of help.
