Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

We have this dark little corner of our kitchen that is just begging for a bistro table + chairs and a pendant light. Here’s hopin’!

I’m BOARD! And I would choose my laundry room. We’re currently building a home and it was just dry-walled – and now I understand just how much light that room in the house is not getting. When it was all framed and empty it was illuminated and very nice. Now? Not so much.

Our house gets amazing light but if I had to pick one room it would be our front room. I faces N so doesn’t get a lot of light and by evening the big house next door blocks the setting sun.

I’m Board! – I would LOVE to bring some more light into my living room. We have big French windows, but they face north and are covered by trees! Tragic! Unfortunately since it’s a rental we have no control over the trees :( A lamp like this would be perfect for the room!

I would pick our family room. It has TONS of windows but because they lead to a covered and screened in porch it just doesn’t seem to get as bright and sunny as the rest of the house.

I my living room is super super dark. The light that we get form the east is usually covered by curtains (we live on a busy street) and the light from the west is covered by the exterior door. So we end up having to turn on the lights when it’s still sunny outside.

Wow, I love Room & Board! My living room could definitely use more light – We are saving money to have some recessed lighting installed sometime soon. Our house is surrounded by pine trees (we live in the south) and while it helps to keep the house cool, it’s not so good for natural light.
