Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

    I’m Board!
I would love to lighten up my living room. I am currently living in a 1 bedroom plus one sun room (used as a second bedroom) apartment in Washington, DC. I actually think that you have done a re-do in my current building and your ideas for how to cover up the sun room doors for privacy were very helpful for my roommate and I! But in covering up the sun room windows, we have also covered up my living room’s only light source. Thank you for all of the ideas you have shared and inspiration for my first apartment!

I’M BOARD! I’d really like a light in the little “nook” in our bedroom. My reading chair has no light and my eyes are beginning to suffer… Not yet, but I’m sure they will with time. Right? Right! So, yes, a lovely light over my reading chair. Thanks for the offer! :)

My attic/guest bedroom FO SHO! Going up there at night makes me think of the Grudge since the only light switch leads to NO LIGHT.. creepy.

Would love to get more light into our dining room. With a North facing window, it doesn’t get much natural light. Plus the chandelier over the dining table, which came with the house, is not really my style.

I would love to light up our bedroom, there is not a lot of natural lighting and the lights we have just aren’t cutting it.

I would love to upgrade the light situation in my bedroom. By day it’s gloriously sun-filled (you know, while I’m at work, not witnessing it) but by night the fugly landlord-purchased ceiling light fixture does not cut it. Let’s get rid of that thing.

our family room is a good size & has nice natural lighting. but at night? with the vaulted ceilings, the light gets eaten up. so definitely the family room!

I’M BOARD! Really our whole house could use more light, its a basement condo on the back of a building facing woods. If I had to pick one room though it would be our guest bedroom. It is the least lucky in the light we do get and is perpetually sad in the lighting department.

I definitely wish that our basement den had more light! It has two small windows, but they don’t do much past early afternoon. The overhead lights are small and dim – I would love to update that room!
