Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

I’M BOARD – and would love to add some light to my very dark office, it’s one little window along with the original 1940’s (broken) fixture just doesn’t cut it.

My house is actually very well-lit, so I’d really like it if my crawlspace were brighter… it’s scary down there!

Don’t worry though, if I win I won’t be putting the pendant in my crawlspace. :)

Actually, it’d be the family room. The home was built in the early 1970s, so we have two of those tiny ‘eye’ lights in the ceiling. Doesn’t do much, so we avoid the room all together. xD

These are gorgeous and would look FAB in my dining room (just about any one of them would mesh into the color scheme in there!!). But as for adding more light to a room, our office could use some help with it’s one tiny little window mostly blocked off by some tall shrubs.

What is it with 60s houses and no overhead lighting in the main rooms? I love our old house, but man, we could use some additional lighting in the living room; the one recessed light above the fireplace (?) just doesn’t cut it.

I desperately need a new light fixture in my dining room. We moved into our home a little over a year ago and that’s one of the last rooms that we haven’t updated. The light fixture in our dining room is an extremely 80s-styled brass and crystal chandelier. Yick!

I’M BOARD…fo’ shizzle! Those pendant lights are bee-a-utiful! I actually have been daydreaming about getting a lovely patterned pendant for the front room of our little abode and am now in love with their site!

As for the bonus question, I just look forward to the day that I can take down the room darkening shades in my little girls’ rooms and let the light shine in…until their natural biorhythms become stronger than the power of the sun, up they will stay!
