Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

and I would love to redo the lighting in our bedroom. We just moved into a new house where there are interesting lighting and dimmer switches in nearly every room. Except our bedroom. Currently above our bed lives a white ceiling fan that looks like it could have been a prototype for the original ceiling fan. It has funky gold edging on the light fixture itself that conveniently matches the gold lining on the three mirrored closet doors (yikes!). We’d really love to update/romanticize our room using lighting!

I would love some fabulous lighting in our cozy little Den, which is SUPER dark because of our paint color – but we LOVE the paint color and it’s really cozy in the winter time. :) Choices, choices…

I’M BOARD! We’ve been slowly updating our house since we moved in two and a half years ago. Light fixtures are always on the list but somehow get bumped for things like insulating the basement and remounting leaky toilets. I’d hang one of these beauties right above my dining room table – it’s visible from several rooms due our split-level floor plan and would look SO MUCH BETTER than the current fixture. It’s brass, with beveled glass and throws awful shadows on my accent wall. I’m keeping my fingers crossed…

I’M BOARD! I would love to redo the lighting in my kitchen. There’s 2 brass flushmount lights and a brass fixture with ridges in the glass. It throws all kinds of crazy shadows on the wall, ugh!

and dreaming of adding R+B lighting to our living room! We are hunting for a house and our temporary place in the meantime feels so, well, temporary. Since we can’t paint where we are and all major purchases have been put on hold for the new place…. the stunning colors and designs of a pendant lamp would be just the fix during the day & some ambient lighting would do wonders at night! And better yet, its something we could bring with us and build upon once we find our home!

Hmmm, if I could redo one room lighting-wise in my house it would be our family room. Uh, somehow I COMPLETELY forgot to leave any source of ambient lighting in that pesky little space. It’s ALLLLLL overhead lighting, BLECK. I’m working on it. Hopefully I shall be inspired soon!
