Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

I’M BOARD…and I think I just died and went to heaven. These pendant lights are SO pretty. I love all the patterns and colors. I’m currently trying to tidy up my craft corner in the basement so that I can actually do all my crafty projects ( I don’t any of my crafting there as it is too dark). It’s really inconvenient to lug all the crafting supplies around the house whenever I’m in the mood to creating something. Thanks for this GREAT giveaway!

This would go into the dining room- we’re renovating and it’s the only main level light that hasn’t been replaced. Currently It’s a bare bulb….

“I’m Board” and…. I’m sitting here thinking what can I do to those two entry walls over there and what about that light? Our house is a bi-level, so it’s more than an entry way… It’s pretty much a….. You can go this way or you can go that way… And that light.. That is a story all right.. Lots of people ask, “What is up with that non-working ugly light?”… Well it is soooo not bright and it currently does not light… It’s on the slanted vaulted wall, that is really tall.. You can see it from the stairs, the kitchen, the family room and it can be seen pretty much from everywhere… It’s that light fixture that I *wished* would just fall… A ladder can’t be put here and it can’t be put there.. You could maybe try to put it over there.. But I wouldn’t if I were you.. I wouldn’t dare… So how does one really reach that light to change those burned out bulbs? That is the question that needs an answer for once and for all.. Not me.. not I… When I ask my hubby, he let’s out a big sigh… The kids laugh, it makes our friends and neighbors wanna cry… Us.. Well, we look at it.. Shake our heads and we walk on by.. It is not pretty and it is not bright.. The bulbs don’t work and it is a very sore sight… What we really need is a nice, pretty, hanging pendant light that will illuminate the room and our entry way, that will show our friends, neighbors and kids that they are going the right way… a light that we can reach, and a light that you want to be seen… and that every time we look at it will make us sing… “This little light of mine.. I’m gonna let shine.. Let it shine… Let it shine.. Let it shine!”….

I’M BOARD…and those pendant lights are gorgeous! I would love to put one over the dining table in our dining/living space to really define the eating area. The lighting we have in this area now is not really functional, and we could definitely use a pendant that’s both practical and pretty!
