Fab Freebie: Light Up A Room (& Board)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).

Room Board Pendants

Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Liz Zankowski (who’s loved these pendants so long that she was excited just at the chance to win). Well, now you’ve won – congrats!

And everyone else can take advantage of Room & Board’s Designer Lighting Event. You can score 15% off Modernica, Flos and Pablo lighting now through Oct 19th.

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Room & Board.

A new pendant light would be the perfect new accessory for my kitchen. It would be a great visual focal point, and my kitchen is a little bit boring (can a kitchen be tooooo streamlined and neat?), so a nice bright pattern would really add some much needed pizazz!

Oh my word, i would L-O-V-E to win this prize!!! Those shades are gorgeous!

Our kitchen could use some more light. We have walnut cabinets that seem to suck the light. They are pretty but I’d love a more light and airy feel to our kitchen.

“I’M BOARD” My room would be my formal living room that we’re changing into a dining room. There’s not even a fan in the room. We’ve got great sliders that let in a lot of natural light, but that place is SO dark at night!

My house is surrounded by trees, which is wonderful for keeping the house cool, but not ideal for letting in natural light. The living room and master bedroom are both in desperate need of some light!

Our home is surrounded by trees so the only room in our house that isn’t light deficient is the sunroom. I would probably pick out something “fun” for our master bedroom.

    IM BOARD!
My 70s house is entirely too dark for my taste, so I would love to add light to any room. If I had to pick one that really, really needs it, it would be our living room. There is no overhead lighting in the entire space- just lamps I have placed wherever I can! I love the Helix pendant.

I’M BOARD! :) I would without a doubt light up our future nursery. It’s a small-ish room at the back of the house that has windows, but doesn’t get tons of light; and there is a miserable old ugly fan-light in there. One of these pendant fixtures would be just gorgeous with the look I want to create!

I need more lighting in my home office. I work from home (10 hours/day, four days/week), and the only room available for an office has no ceiling light and only one window. When it’s overcast or early morning or late afternoon during the winter, my desk lamp doesn’t really cut it…
