Fab Freebie: Let The Rain Fall Down

***This giveawy is no longer accepting entries***

By now you all probably know that we try to make the best out of a seemingly bad situation. So when someone tries to rain on your parade, what do we say? Catch it in a rain barrel and put that H2O to good use!

Which is why we’re super excited to bring you this week’s giveaway sponsored by The Rain Barrel Company. They sell a range of pro-sustainability products (composters, etc.) and this week they’re offering up one of their namesake products to one lucky reader…

RainBarrelCoCascastaTerraCotta

Yup it’s a fancy pre-made professional rain barrel which means you all can jump on the collect-your-own-rainwater bandwagon with us without even having to go barrel diving like I did. After all, who isn’t down with saving the planet and money on their water bill? Oh and you can learn more about these amazing pre-made rain barrels on the Rain Barrel Company website since the winner gets their pick of the bunch:

RainBarrelCompanyGiveawayOptions

  • PRIZE:  One of the three rain barrels (and stand) show above (either the Californian, Mocha Cascata or Terra Cotta Cascata, valued at $183 – $337 a pop!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “RAIN ON ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us your favorite way to make the most of a rainy day. Do you catch a movie? Curl up with a book (or blog)? Or just sit and dream about filling up a rain barrel?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One and only one
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA and Canada
  • THE USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

PS: Anyone catch the subtle Hilary Duff / Laguna Beach theme song reference in the title? Yeah, um, me neither..

Psst, have you updated your bookmarks / reader / blogroll / outgoing links / Twitter/ Facebook yet? If you’re still heading our way using old TYH methods, they won’t last for long so don’t forget to make the switch! We’d hate to lose a single one of you freebie-lovin’ folks.

    RAIN ON ME!

My most favorite thing to do on a rainy day is to listen to it and take in the smells of the earth, I love it. My cats always make rainy days fun as well, they paw at the rain drops on the windows and make me laugh hysterically. It’s like a mini theatre production right in my own home!

    RAIN ON ME!

My favorite thing to do in the rain is to go outside and play in it! No shoes, puddles, wet hair and clothes is the best on a rainy day! Come inside and take a shower, put on some comfortable PJ’s and watch a good movie on the couch with my hubby!

RAIN ON ME–I live in Portland, where is seriously does spend eight months of the year raining on EVERYBODY. What do we do on a rainy day? We walk around, business as usual, waiting for summer to arrive.

    Rain on ME :)

Oh please please please pick me. I have been wanting one of these for so long, but it’s never been in my budget to buy one. They are just fantastic and my pretty gardens would be so happy to share space with one.

On a rainy day I love to curl up with a good book in my sunroom which is all glass and hear the rain on the roof.

    Rain on me!!! Please!!!

Well, I just moved to FL. All it does is rain!! Every day! Having moved from SoCal, it took some getting used to. Whenever it starts to rain, I grab a book, put on my sweats, and curl up on my bed. I love to listen to the sound of the rain while relaxing.

This would be amazing for us since our water bills are high due to having to water our lawns to keep them alive so often due to the heat….and since it rains here daily….. ;)

I love rainy days probably more than a born and bred California girl should! My favorite thing to do is start up the fireplace, curl up on the sofa with a quilt,a cat,a cup of tea, and a good book. Of course, there will be cookies or a pie baking in the oven. A good rainy day is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

    Rain on me!

My favorite rainy day memory was my freshman year of college. I hadn’t known my roommate before starting school and one afternoon it rained really hard and we put on some old clothes and went out and played in the mud. It was awesome, and we looked terrible (my mom still has a picture of us) and it was a great friendship cementer. It was like being a kid again and playing in mud puddles. Actually, It is supposed to rain today, maybe I’ll put on some old clothes and give it a go.

My favorite thing to do on a rainy day is to watch my 2 year old daughter, Addison, discover what a pure and absoulte (not to mention free) joy it is to jump in a great big puddle for the first time or to taste the rain drops with your tongue. We love to put our rain boots on and slash around the neighborhood.

We love to garden and hope that we get one of the awesome rain barrels to help our flowers grow!
