Fab Freebie: Let The Rain Fall Down

***This giveawy is no longer accepting entries***

By now you all probably know that we try to make the best out of a seemingly bad situation. So when someone tries to rain on your parade, what do we say? Catch it in a rain barrel and put that H2O to good use!

Which is why we’re super excited to bring you this week’s giveaway sponsored by The Rain Barrel Company. They sell a range of pro-sustainability products (composters, etc.) and this week they’re offering up one of their namesake products to one lucky reader…

RainBarrelCoCascastaTerraCotta

Yup it’s a fancy pre-made professional rain barrel which means you all can jump on the collect-your-own-rainwater bandwagon with us without even having to go barrel diving like I did. After all, who isn’t down with saving the planet and money on their water bill? Oh and you can learn more about these amazing pre-made rain barrels on the Rain Barrel Company website since the winner gets their pick of the bunch:

RainBarrelCompanyGiveawayOptions

  • PRIZE:  One of the three rain barrels (and stand) show above (either the Californian, Mocha Cascata or Terra Cotta Cascata, valued at $183 – $337 a pop!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “RAIN ON ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us your favorite way to make the most of a rainy day. Do you catch a movie? Curl up with a book (or blog)? Or just sit and dream about filling up a rain barrel?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One and only one
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA and Canada
  • THE USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

PS: Anyone catch the subtle Hilary Duff / Laguna Beach theme song reference in the title? Yeah, um, me neither..

Psst, have you updated your bookmarks / reader / blogroll / outgoing links / Twitter/ Facebook yet? If you’re still heading our way using old TYH methods, they won’t last for long so don’t forget to make the switch! We’d hate to lose a single one of you freebie-lovin’ folks.

I LOVE to take my kids outside to play in the rain (assuming it’s warm – not when its 50 and windy, I mean, seriously, that’s just cold). They can get messy and splash to their hearts content and I can be reminded that it’s OK for them to be messy and for my floors to be wet . . .for a little while. :-)

Awesome givaway! These are so much more stylish than the big blue food drums we get in our area!

    RAIN ON ME!!!
I would love love love to win one of these rainbarrels. Ever since I read your rainbarrel tutorial I have been wanting to make my own but the barrel that my dad offered me happens to be bright blue – not so lovely in the backyard so I have been dragging my heels. So excited that this one ships to Canada so I have a chance!
On rainy days, I love to curl up with a good book and a pot of tea… :)

    Rain on Me!

Living in Vancouver we get PLENTY of rainy days! My favourite activities are hunkering down on the couch with my hubby and cat with a good movie, a pot of tea and cake, OR if I’m feeling energetic, going for an early morning paddle in my sea kayak. I love the sound of rain falling onto the ocean all around me.

Rain On Me – wasn’t that a bad 80’s song.
Rainy days are fabulous, I try to do one inside project so that after I can sit and watch a movie and stare at my new decoupaged box or sewn pillow, very satisfying.

Have to say these rainbarrels are fabulous. We have one of those ugly plastic blue barrels right now. It used to house vinegar, goodness knows one of these would be a huge upgrade, but they are fabulous, we use it to water plants and wash the dog in the summer……

    “RAIN, RAIN, RAIN ON ME!!!’

This water barrel looks so much prettier than the one i have rigged up that my husband keeps threatening to rip apart, LOL..

Our favorite rainy day activity involves all three of us (my husband, myself and my two year old daughter) staying in our pjs all day long and making “tunnels” out of blankets, eating grill cheese sandwiches…and watching “Dora the Explorer”, of course!

Love the new name, btw! :)

I like to spend rainy days shredding old papers/bills etc. Sounds pathetic but it’s amazing what I can get cleaned up. And of course I recycle the shreds of paper to mail a package or to stuff a scarecrow.

RAIN ON ME! I live in Florida and we never get enough rain and therefore we live with watering restrictions. No watering the grass, garden, flowers etc. I can only water on one day and I can never wash a car, or do anything else. A rain barrel would be so perfect. On rainy day’s I wile away the hours putting together dream boards for every room in my house.

    RAIN ON ME….

My favorite way to spend a rainy day is to dream up future house decorating/remodeling plans. My bf and I just bought a condo and have been decorating since the day we signed the papers. Our latest dream, turning our non-used roof into a roof top garden! Plans are to install Summer 2010 (we live in Chicago, summer is almost over).
