Fab Freebie: Island Style

We’re leaving the mainland and heading for the islands for this week’s freebie giveaway. Well, I guess I don’t mean that literally (unfortunately) but we’re leaving it up to So’mace Lifestyle, a new design boutique in Honolulu, to bring the Hawaiian experience to all of us.

somacelifestyleshop

So’mace Lifestyle is a new gallery & shop spawned from a design service that started in 2004 by former New Yorkers Kaypee Soh and Edward Macey. The new boutique, which has a focus on sustainable and green design, is chock full of great art for your walls (wallpaper), for your floor (rugs), for your dreams (bedding) and- here’s where the prize comes in – for your sofa (pillows).

somacepillowsoncouch

Kaypee Soh’s line of original pillows (view full collection here and here) is a mix of nature-inspired florals and graphic retro designs, all hand-printed in Washington state and hand-sewn in Hawaii. They feature 100% linen covers with a 20″ x 20″ feather/down and hypoallergenic insert. Plus, with two different, coordinated designs on each side, you can give your couch a fresh look just by flipping the pillow over. And one lucky reader will have the chance to do just that…

somacepillowstacked1

To win your choice of any one of the six pillows shown below, just comment on this post with the words “ALOHA” by Wednesday, February 18th at 8pm EST. And since Hawaii is such a popular honeymoon spot, we’d also love to hear where you went (or are hoping/planning to go) on your honeymoon. As you probably know, we actually left the lower 48 and headed the other direction for an Alaskan honeymoon. Not quite as warm, but it managed to be just as romantic.

So’mace Lifestyle will ship this great prize anywhere, so don’t hold back all you international pillow lovers! We’ll be picking one winner using random.org and announcing it later in the week as usual. Now, what’s Hawaiian for “good luck”?

If you’re curious, you can get more details about our giveaways here. All images courtesy of So’mace Lifestyle and Kaypee Soh

Aloha! Sean and I got married in Maui, so that’s where we stayed for our honeymoon 6 months ago. Believe it or not, we’re back on Oahu now for a friend’s wedding! We’ll have to check the store out in person.

We didn’t actually have a honeymoon. Although we did leave to live in Paris soon after. I guess that sort of counts ;-)

These pillows are really refreshing. I love them!

ALOHA!! We went to Mexico for our honeymoon but took a trip to Hawaii last year…during one of the biggest storms they’ve had in awhile! We lost power for a few days and roads were flooded everywhere…not exactly the best trip, but we really want to go back in better weather that’s for SURE!! :-D

I’d love to go to Alaska one day too, but for my HM I’d go to a pacific island like the Cook Islands, or Fiji. These cushions are gorgeous.

Aloha John and Sherry! I am a new fan of your blog, having read your article in D.I.Y.! I picked it up to get some ideas for our new house in ~ Hawaii!! :) Yep, we moved here just three weeks ago ~ my wonderful hubby is proudly serving in the Army and we were fortunate to end up here!

We also honeymooned here just three years ago in Waikiki, and absolutely fell in love with the beauty of the island and the culture of the people. Everyone is so laid back and the beaches are out of this world. If you can, someday you should come to visit! (…and then I can pay you for some decorating advice for the hum-drum military housing we have ;) It’s hard to decorate when you move every few years.

“Mahalo” for all you do, and aloha! :)

Aloha! They are lovely would be great with some fresh spring/summer bed linen too. No honeymoon on the horizon as yet but we would have to split a few weeks between powder skiing in Colorado and probably somewhere lovely and warm-Caribbean probably! We live in the UK so we need to leave our island for variable weather!

Those cushions are fantastic. I love them! We are getting married in June and we are honeymooning in Cornwall, England. I would love to visit Hawaii at some point in the future but sadly our honeymoon budget does not extend to that sort of trip at the moment. For an anniversary perhaps.

ALOHA! My husband and I were married September 29, 2007. The morning after our wedding we actually woke up at early in the am and headed to our local antique flea market. It is tradition. We have not missed one for 10 + years. It is held May thru October one sunday a month. We then headed to Hudson WI for a stay at 2 beautiful bed and breakfasts. The trip was so much fun. The fall colors were beautiful. We shopped, hiked, and ate great food.

We went to Helen, GA which is most definitely NOT a dream honeymoon destination, but it met my criteria: not too far away as I didn’t want to have to travel a long time and not a place I’d feel I needed to get out and see the sites. We just wanted to spend the time together.

For our anniversaries we’ve gone to Savannah, GA; Asheville, NC; and Chicago. Don’t know where we going this year for anniversary #4, but it’ll be fun!
