Fab Freebie: I’ll Drink To That

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Sherry and I can’t stop talking about how good the toasts were at my cousin Casey’s wedding in Dallas (Wedding Crashing pics to come…). There were five in total (two groomsmen, two bridesmaids and my other cousin, the bride’s teenage brother) and each was remarkably funny, articulate and touching. Most weddings are lucky enough to have one of those, let alone a handful. So in that spirit, we think this week’s prize from Mikasa Crystal & Dinnerware is quite fitting.

Mikasa Wine Glasses

Mikasa’s been dishing out classic and stylish servingware for over 60 years (perhaps they were even on your wedding registry?) so we were stoked when they contacted us to offer up some free goodies for you our lovey readers. This week we’re serving up prizes to three lucky winners from Mikasa’s new Cheers Too line of glassware. Each set of four crystal drinking glasses features simple, modern designs that just make you wanna throw a dinner party. With lots of “beverages” on hand, of course.

Mikasa Crystal Glassware

  • PRIZE: Your choice of the Cheers Too White Wine, Double Old Fashioned, or Highball Set of Four by Mikasa
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’ll DRINK TO THAT” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about a memorable toast you’ve heard (or given!) and what made it great. We could all use a few good toastmaster tips, right?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, August 26th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only this time.
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I’LL DRINK TO THAT! My father-in-law gave a funny and memorable toast at our wedding that I will always remember -mostly because he reminded his son that I was his new boss. :)

My father-in-laws speech at our wedding was hilarious. It ended with our dog Max (a little yorkie) making an appearance, tux and all! My mother-in-law bought the outfit at build-a-bear.

The best toast was at my wedding by my brother-in-law,it was so touching and emotional. It was one of my favorite moments from the day.

My husband and I just moved into a new home…and after a long weekend of major home decorating projects (you’d be so proud of me) I would love to sit on our deck, overlooking the ocean, toasting to a great life together with one of those beautiful white wine glasses!

My cousin gave the toast at her sisters wedding and totally finked her sister out to her new hubby john about when they first started dating that she was also dating another guy john at the time. i remember this one part vividly she said “it was easy for candis not to mess up the names, but it was difficult to know which john was calling.”

Last summer my friend’s dad gave a toast about the weight one’s only daughter’s spousal decision carries…and how relieved he was to find her new husband’s parents had a yellow lab, too. It was hilarious — if only because this always-joking man seemed on the verge of going all serious on us. :)

I’LL DRINK TO THAT!! One of our favorite toasts is “may all the stones you step on be diamonds; may your house always be a home; and may your hot nights have nothing to do with the weather! Another one that we like, for our older male friends’ birthdays, is “here’s to your ability to have the agility to take your virility into your
    senility”.

“Here’s to love, laughter, and happy ever after!”

My husband’s best man (and best friend) set the standard for all future toasts as far as I am concerned. At our wedding, he wrapped up his toast by stating that he was “passing the torch” of looking after my husband from himself to me, and then had another friend bring out a lighted tiki torch and hand it to me. You should see the photos of me holding the flaming torch at arm’s length trying not to set my dress on fire while laughing hysterically. :)

The most tragicomic toast of all times happened at my grandparents’ 50 years anniversary, in an old Croatian village where people never even heard of toasts, or if they did, they were thought to be the most embarassing thing ever. So, with EVERYONE’s face red, my burgundy cheeked Dad plowed through a 10 minute speech, stubbornly moving forward even if we were ALL looking at the floor, especially his wife and children:..:D but now that I think of it, I say kudos to my dad. my hero.

My dad gave a beautiful, well thought out and very touching speech at my wedding. The best speech I’ve ever heard! You could tell that he had spent a lot of time and energy putting it together, and I saw him reviewing it over and over throughout the day before the wedding. :)

I once made a toast as the maid of honor at my good friend’s wedding. A great line that confuses the crowd at first but then fills the room with “awwwwwww”s is

“May today be the day that you love each other the least” meaning that your love for each other should grow every moment. :)
