Sherry and I can’t stop talking about how good the toasts were at my cousin Casey’s wedding in Dallas (Wedding Crashing pics to come…). There were five in total (two groomsmen, two bridesmaids and my other cousin, the bride’s teenage brother) and each was remarkably funny, articulate and touching. Most weddings are lucky enough to have one of those, let alone a handful. So in that spirit, we think this week’s prize from Mikasa Crystal & Dinnerware is quite fitting.
Mikasa’s been dishing out classic and stylish servingware for over 60 years (perhaps they were even on your wedding registry?) so we were stoked when they contacted us to offer up some free goodies for you our lovey readers. This week we’re serving up prizes to three lucky winners from Mikasa’s new Cheers Too line of glassware. Each set of four crystal drinking glasses features simple, modern designs that just make you wanna throw a dinner party. With lots of “beverages” on hand, of course.

I’ll DRINK TO THAT, I have to say the hardest toast I’ve done was at my best friends wedding and I was 7 months pregnant so no little sip of wine to take the nerve off.
“I’ll drink to that.” Can’t think of any special toasts, but do love that Mikasa glassware. Keep up the good blog!
I’ll DRINK TO THAT
Best toast was from my father-in-law during our wedding. It was a real heart-warmer.
These are so beautiful! I’d love to host a dinner party with them. I’m sure they would be the “toast of the town” so to speak. :)
I’ll drink to that!
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!!
I’ll DRINK TO THAT
my favorite toast was at my cousin’s wedding, which was great because it told a story about him which pretty much summed up his entire childhood and showed how perfect they are together.
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!
“I’ll Drink to That” : You know come to think of it… I don’t think I have heard any crazy toast stories! Just all heartfelt and very nice. I know I’m boring! =)
But the Best one in a movie was def. the one from Wedding Crashers! “You’ll hear crickets” Love it!
I’ll drink to that!
In my opinion, the best wedding toasts (or other toasts, I suppose, though most toasts I hear are during weddings) are light-hearted and slightly humorous. I know many people love the you’re-amazing-and-mean-the-world-to-me toasts, but they’re just not my thing. :)
I’ll Drink to That!
The most memorable toast that comes to mind is the most recent one I have heard – my sister’s MOH toast to my husband and I at our wedding. She wrote a song about our relationship, sang it and had my brother accompany her on guitar.
Everyone that was at the wedding wants a copy of her “toast”!
I’ll drink to that!
My brother in law said something short and simple:
May your love always be added, and never subtracted
May your household multiply and never be divided
I’ll DRINK TO THAT!
The best toast I have heard, I was lucky enough to hear at my own wedding. My sister did an absolute awesome job! She said memories of when we were younger, talked about my new husband with a few jokes and welcomed him to the family and then proceeded to give us a few words of wisdom. It was so awesome! I’ll never forget it!
I’ll drink to that!
I’ll DRINK TO THAT
I made a toast at my cousins wedding as her maid of honor that had the whole family crying! (In a good way)
I’ll drink to that!
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!!
I’m so excited about this giveaway! I’m crossing my fingers, crossing my toes, crossing the street… You get the idea.
The most memorable toast I’ve given was to my sister and her new groom. I’m sure that it was not incredibly eloquent or remarkably funny; but it was filled with love and all my best hopes and most sincere wishes for their lifetime together.
I’ll toast to that!
I’ll Drink to That! I always get choked up when bride’s fathers make heartfelt toasts at their daughters’ weddings.
“I’ll DRINK TO THAT
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!
My dad’s toast at our wedding this past May was hilarious! He started by thanking family and friends for coming, saying that it was a very emotional day…even the cake is in “tiers”!
I’ll drink to that!!
I’ll DRINK TO THAT…love them!
I’ll DRINK TO THAT
I’ll drink to that!
My fave is wishing that when the bride and groom look back on the day that it’s the day they loved each other the least, because their love has grown so much!
I’ll DRINK TO THAT!!!
I’ll drink to that!! Can’t remember any memorable toasts but I am loving on the glassware! Fingers crossed!!!
I’ll drink to that!
My most memorable toast was given on my wedding day by my best friend and maid of honor. It was so heartfelt and made everyone cry.
I’ll drink to that!
I don’t think I’ve actually been to a lot of weddings. But I think I remember my maid of honor saying something like “thank God she finally got married”. Funny.
I’ll DRINK TO THAT
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!!
The most memorable for me was the toast my best friend/Maid of Honor gave me at my wedding. It was short and to the point, but it was also full of memories that were touching to us.
I’ll DRINK TO THAT!
My most memorable is a short funny one my father always says: “through the teeth and around the gums, look out stomach here it comes!”
“I’LL DRINK TO THAT”
I’ll drink to that!
The best toast I’ve heard (or given, even!) have been classy and heartfelt. My fiance has a go-to anecdote that’s always sure to get a sincere laugh:
“(To bride), place your hand on the table. (To groom), place your hand on hers. Now I know that you will always remember this moment, for the rest of your years together, for it will be the last time that you have the upper hand.” Hee hee, I’ve doubted people’s ability to see the sweet humor in it, but it’s worked successfully at two weddings! Love it.
“I’ll DRINK TO THAT”
These are great! The double old fashioned setis my favorite
I’ll drink to that!
I’ll DRINK TO THAT…best man at our wedding. so funny!
Best toast i’ve ever heard was at my sisters rehearsal dinner, and it started with the best man saying “The gypsy at my halloween party told anna….” (anna is my sister).
I’ll CERTAINLY drink to that!
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!
Best toast ever was at my cousin’s wedding – the father of the groom was so nervous about speaking in public that he accidentally crushed his glass in half by knocking it too fiercely with his fork! “Hrrrm hrrrrm may I have your attention – – – SMASH!!!!” Unforgettable!
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!
I liked my sister’s wedding toast to us! She told a funny story from when she first met my husband, then proceeded to tell everyone that he’s like a brother to her. It was really nice!
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!
I’ll drink to that!
One of the most memorable speeches that I heard wasn’t just one, but three. My cousin-in-law was the only girl and the youngest of 4. All 3 of her brothers gave a short toast on her wedding day. The groom asked all of them for permission to marry her too.
I’ll drink to that!
I’ve heard some heart-warming toasts as well as some odd ones.
I’ll drink to that! white wine are my favs. I have most of them in all designs – best way to remember which glass is yours while still having a matching set genius! My dad’s toast at our wedding was short and classic him!
I’ll Drink to That!
I was at a friend’s wedding this past year and she and her husband met through a recreational dodgeball league we all played on. The toast of course featured a team cheer.
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!
Tough to remember them all, but I did like what my friend’s sisters said to her during their toast. She is from across the country and came to the east coast for grad school, promising to move back after it was over. Her sisters swore she wouldn’t come back. Well, she fell in love, got married, and her sisters’ toast started out “Remember when we said you’d go to grad school, fall in love, and never come back? Well, WE TOLD YOU SO.”
I’LL DRINK TO THAT
I’ll Drink To That! My BIL gave the best toast I’ve ever heard – it was just “All I’ve got to say is that I love you, man! I love YOU, man. Katrina, welcome to the family. But, I LOVE you, man!”
I’LL DRINK TO THAT!
The most memorable toast I’ve witnessed was the drunken best man at a friend’s wedding who gave the most heartfelt, beautiful toast I’ve ever heard. He blew us all away–our epxectations were so low and boy did he deliver.
This could change as soon as I finally see my wedding video as our maid of honor and best man from our wedding were bashful and opted to toast the video camera…
I’LL DRINK TO THAT.
My favorite toast I’ve given was roughly this:
Antoine de St. Exupery once said that “Love does not consist in gazing at each other but looking outward in the same direction.” Today, [name] and [name] have eyes only for each other, but I know that they are bound for success because they are looking forward together, in love. Here’s to many happy years together.
