Fab Freebie: I’ll Drink To That

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Sherry and I can’t stop talking about how good the toasts were at my cousin Casey’s wedding in Dallas (Wedding Crashing pics to come…). There were five in total (two groomsmen, two bridesmaids and my other cousin, the bride’s teenage brother) and each was remarkably funny, articulate and touching. Most weddings are lucky enough to have one of those, let alone a handful. So in that spirit, we think this week’s prize from Mikasa Crystal & Dinnerware is quite fitting.

Mikasa Wine Glasses

Mikasa’s been dishing out classic and stylish servingware for over 60 years (perhaps they were even on your wedding registry?) so we were stoked when they contacted us to offer up some free goodies for you our lovey readers. This week we’re serving up prizes to three lucky winners from Mikasa’s new Cheers Too line of glassware. Each set of four crystal drinking glasses features simple, modern designs that just make you wanna throw a dinner party. With lots of “beverages” on hand, of course.

Mikasa Crystal Glassware

  • PRIZE: Your choice of the Cheers Too White Wine, Double Old Fashioned, or Highball Set of Four by Mikasa
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’ll DRINK TO THAT” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about a memorable toast you’ve heard (or given!) and what made it great. We could all use a few good toastmaster tips, right?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, August 26th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only this time.
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Favorite toast – May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.

The best toast I’ve heard was my brother toasting my other brother as his best man. I loved watching my big brothers shine in front of a crowd like this, and come undone with brotherly love for one another.

I’ll drink to that! I have to say, the toasts that stand out are the ones that just went on and on and on — so much so that you drank all your champagne and had to ask for a refill before they were even finished. Painful!

    I’ll DRINK TO THAT

At my wedding, one of our best man’s speeches started by asking all of my hubby’s girlfriends to return the keys to his house. About 20 women came up and dropped keys on our head table including my mom’s 68-year-old aunt, his childhood friend’s mom, and my brother. It was funny at the time.

    I’ll DRINK TO THAT!

I don’t really have any memorable toasts to comment on but for some reason my husband and I always get bottles of wines from our friends and family members with interested names. For instance, on our wedding we received a bottle of wine called “Bitch,” and when we bought our first house (3 weeks ago) we got one names “Broke Ass.”

    I’LL DRINK TO THAT!

At my rehearsal dinner, my “little” brother (who stands almost a foot taller than me) popped up after we gave our thanks to our guests and said that he just wanted to give his whole-hearted approval and welcome my husband to our family. And I think he really meant it – the fact that all the bridesmaids swooned was just a bonus :)

At a friend’s wedding the best man and maids of honor were drunk and the two maids of honor sang a song (out of key) to the bride and groom. 1/2 funny 1/2 embarrassing.

Doing wedding photography, I get to hear lots of great toasts…my favorite one yet was by the maid of honor at a recent wedding, talking about how she’d watched the bride and groom fall in love. It was very sweet, and not a dry eye in the room :)

I’ll drink to that!! what an awesome giveaway!

at my wedding in October 2007, my husband’s best man was going on & on about how when they were in high school, they used to steal road signs, and I was MORTIFIED. Then his girlfriend comes over with this big black thing. Turns out it was a road sign with a black blanket over it. The road sign says “Watch For Children,” and is now hanging in our bedroom. Haha!

At a good friend’s wedding, the best man actually said, “It’s such an honor to be your best man. I hope I can be your best man again someday”… I think he was just a little nervous! Everyone got a good laugh out of that, and thank goodness the bride had a sincere sense of humor!
