Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

    HOMES ME!!

I would settle for a closet in the bedroom, unlike what we currently have in our 100+ year old house :)

HOMES ME! I would want a big, fenced in yard. Lots of closet space. And lastly, more space! We’ve already grown out of our current house.

At the top of the list for the next place is more windows! We live in a row home, and so we only get a small amount of light through the very front and very back of our long and narrow place.

We’re tight on space in our current house, so I would definitely like more square footage and a bigger kitchen.

    HOMES ME!

The must have on my list if I were to buy a new house now would be a flat, grassy yard. When hubby and I bought our house 7 years ago, we had no kids and loved the “idea” of our wooded, hilly backyard. Now that we have two boys who love to run, it limits their play and frustrates me to no end, as pretty as it is. Live and learn!

HOMES ME! We’re in the process of buying a new house. Our must haves were good neighborhood, big enough, heat pump/forced air heat & cooling and a decent lot size. Everything else in our soon-to-be (hasn’t been touched since 1973) home can be changed!

My must have? CLOSETS! We need storage space so desperately, it trumps our need for a second bathroom. My family of four, one of which is a teenage girl, shares ONE closet. (Yes, three quarters of it is her clothes and the rest of us share the remaining quarter!)
