Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

My husband and I are currently shopping for a new house right now, so homes.com is very popular in our house.

Our must have in our next house is more garage space!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I’d love a home in a good area that has good bones but leaves enough room in the budget to renovate and make it our own.

    HOMES ME!!!!
I’m am totally crushing on houses that have the laundry room off of the master closet ( mail level). My master bedroom is upstairs, and I have the hardest time getting my ( and the husbs) clothes down and up again! I would also love sapce for a real pantry, all we have is a “broom closet”!!

HOMES ME!!! Without a doubt, more square footage! We live in the sugar shack with 1,100 square feet shared between two adults, a 3 1/2 year old, a 15 month old and a 7 year old chocolate lab. WE NEED SPACE! Fingers crossed for the drawing!

I would love some more square footage in a new home and a more intuitive floor plan. And definitely a larger master bath. But we are working with what we’ve got and have a lot of future plans to improve our space.

If we had a new home, I’d definitely need at least 2 more bedrooms and 1 more bathroom. I’d also prefer for the master to be located separate from the other bedrooms (although right now it’s great as we expect a baby boy in February).

A garage would be perfect! Somewhere to store the tools when they are not in use…and somewhere to work when it is raining out because our current situation consists of storing the tools in the back of our large SUV.

I guess location would have to be our number 1 must have. Because like they always say, “You can change a lot about a house but you can’t really pick it up and move it.” Since we live in a badly insulated apartment we have a huge list of other must have’s like more space, newer windows, No bats in the attic, etc… I’m not afraid of something a outdated and actually look forward to DIYing it to make it our home.

Trees are a must for us! A house can be made over, but the shade and beauty that a shaded lot provides can’t be achieved in an afternoon makeover.
