An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!
With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

HOMES ME! Just bought a new house last week with my two must haves: an in ground pool and closer commute to work!

Homes me!!
Now that our kiddos are getting a little older, I would love to have an inground pool. Purposely didn’t look at houses with one when we moved last, but now considering installing one. What a difference a few years makes!
Jonelle L says
Homes me! please!
An amazing basement/family room is the top of my must have list. Complete with a bar, big screen tv, and one of those couches that just suck you in with its comfort. I love hosting get-togethers and need a spacious and fun place to hold them.
Maura says
Homes me! Ownership so that I can decorate however I want!
Sara M. says
HOMES ME!!
I love our current home, however, it’s just too small. So if I had a ‘must have list’ more space and a bigger kitchen would definitely be on it!
Preeti says
HOMES ME! I would love bigger bedrooms and closets!
Melissa says
HOMES ME !!!!!!!!!! If I were to buy a house today the requirements would be… Rural at least 2.5 acres, it would have to have a detached garage/workshop for my man (he needs a man cave), and a workable good size kitchen that would be open to the Living room (when you have friends over it’s important to be able to see what going on and converse while making all the yummies).
Gia says
Homes me!
Higher ceiling..we have a seven ft ceiling and boy it’s depressing :(
Melissa says
HOMES ME!
Being close to town
Christy U. says

HOMES ME!! A must have in my next home would be more space between my house and my neighbor’s house. Togetherness is good but too much is sometimes just too much. :-)

My first house must be full of windows and have an interesting architectural detail that will function as a conversation starter when visitors arrive!

HOMES ME! I’d buy a house with a bigger mudroom and less square footage overall.
Bianca Casavant says

If I were buying a house today, I’d be looking for very old styles, like ornate ceilings, window boarders, paneling, and fireplaces to name a few, and of course very tall ceilings and wood floors! Only thing is the layout has to work, and can’t be too small….and I would later fill it with my artwork :)
Karen says
Homes me!!! We need/want a garage!!!
Denny Henry says
HOMES ME!
A two car garage and man cave.
Alyssa says
Homes me! I’d install clap-on clap-off in EVERY room
Alison says
Homes me!! A linen closet – turns out having a place to put sheets and towels would be useful ;)
aimee says
HOMES ME!
With snow season upon us I’d look for a place with a garage! ;-)
Staci H says
HOMES ME!!!! My husband and I have DIY’d 90% of our house and have one room left on the major overhaul. If I were looking now, I’d be looking for more existing square footage that we could renovate, rather than having to start from scratch.
Rachel Samdahl says
Homes Me!
I’d love a big backyard so I could have a garden to work in again :)
Lisa says
HOMES ME!
Location, location, location! I don’t want a big commute to work, that’s all!
Michelle says
Homes me! I would definitely love to have larger bedrooms… as it is there is hardly room for a dresser once you put a bed in ours!
Athena Warner says
HOMES ME!
I would say that a nice neighborhood would be priority number one for our first house. We have an almost-4-month-old, and it’d be great to be in a better community with more moms and children around. Although, having a REAL kitchen comes in pretty close second, haha!
Christine says
HOMES ME! Closer to work, please!
Lindsay says
Homes me! We would love a finished basement
sara says
the next one will be cheaper so we have even more room financially to play with all the renovations we do ourselves… and we do it all!

Kelly says
HOMES ME: I love love my home, but would really like 2 bathrooms :)
Renee says
HOMES ME: My husband and I are currently looking for a vacant lot to build a house on. Our wish list for our lot is for it to be fairly big and to back to some wooded area.
