Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

    HOMES ME!!!

I’d like a cul-de-sac street and a better room layout and more yard; but would keep the square footage, pool, and garage that we have.

    HOMES ME!!

We just bought a new house and it’s pretty close to perfect, at least right now. 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and a huge kitchen. And has hardwood floors throughout to boot! It does need some work though, mainly paint and the bathrooms need some love. The one thing I wish it had was a mud room, we didn’t get lucky in that dept.

My home would HAVE to have… some bedrooms! My husband and I currently live in a somewhat spacious studio. We’d feel all kinds of special if we could, say, host friends overnight without it feeling like a slumber party, or have a baby and not put it in a crib in the corner, ha!

    HOMES ME!!

If we were buying, we would look for a gas cooking range (or a house that we could easily convert to one) and a two car garage. Must haves for us! :) We’re actually moving this week so this gift card would be AMAZING to do some DIY in our new rental…landlord approved of course ;P

We are actually in the process of looking for a home in upstate NY. Our must have is a 20 minute or less commute to work. My husband spent an hour and a half minimum each way while living in Seoul driving through traffic. We are also looking for more bedrooms since our first baby is on the way!

    Homes Me!!!

We just bought a new home 2-3 months ago and the ‘must have’ ended up being the neighborhood — we can change a lot about the house, but not where it’s sitting! Luckily we have a fantastic neighborhood with large trees (which is hard to find in Texas), I just have to take on the bright red and shiny hot pink rooms upstairs….
