Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

I think our must have would be a fenced-in yard for our new puppy. It wasn’t a must have when we were searching last year, but we are so glad we ended up with one now!!

We actually just bought a new-to-us home (it’s a 1960s ranch) and the bathrooms definitely need some work.

We’d get more sq footage and more WALLS! Our 1350sqft house has one big dining/kitchen/family room, and it is so hard to place furniture! Almost all of the back wall is fireplace or windows/sliding door. Then the kitchen begins. Insanity.

Hands down – we neeeed more square footage. 2 adults, 1 toddler and an adorable miniature schnauzer are sick of walking on legos and stumbling through an army of dolls and their dolly accessories! Our 950 sq ft apartment just isn’t cutting it anymore!

Oh, please, HOMES ME! If I were to buy a new home today, I would want all the bedrooms on the same (preferably upper) level. I currently live in a 4 BR house but two are on the top floor, the master is on the main and the other is in the basement. Fine now that my 3 kids are nearly grown up, but not so great when they’re little.

Homes me! I bought my (first) house just about 16 months ago, and it’s got almost everything that was on my wishlist…in my favorite historic neighborhood, lots of craftsman character…the only thing I’d add is a garage. Not looking forward to scraping the car windows every morning this winter. Oh, well–still worth it, ’cause owning a home is SO much fun!! Thanks for the contest!
