Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

    Homes me!
We currently rent a little house with one bathroom and a one-car garage. So at the moment my non-negotiables include 2+ bathrooms and an attached 2 car garage. And a semi-private backyard so I can work on my tan in the summer without people staring as they drive by. ^_^

    HOMES ME!

My hubby and I are in the middle of buying our first home, and since we currently rent a 1-bed, 1-bath duplex unit, the #1 thing I want is a 2nd bedroom and bathroom!

HOMES ME! Definitely a real backyard, and space from my neighbors. I share a lovely townhome with my BFF right now, and it would be the greatest to have more room for my dog to run (without taking him to the local park), plus more space to entertain!

    HOMES ME!

I want kiddos soon so I want a home with a decent sized backyard in a walkable urban neighborhood. Unfortunately, in Seattle, those places don’t come cheap or are super tiny and need more than a little TLC. Oh well, the search continues!

HOMES ME! If we were to move, the new pad would need to have a lot of natural light in the main living areas. I love just about everything about our current home–except that it feels kind of dark. And adding windows is a big job so we’re making the best of our cave-like dwelling. :)

    HOMES ME…

A second bathroom would be a must-have. One is functional, but not having a spare makes the re-do of the bathroom a pretty daunting project. Especially since our kitchen remodel is still in process after nearly 8 months!
