Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

Homes Dot Com Giveaway

  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HOMES ME!” and tell us…

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 5th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States & Canada.

Homes me! We just moved last year so I don’t want to move for a while! But if I did I would definitely want 4-5 bedrooms. We have 3 right now and I always find myself wishing for more.

HOMES ME, PLEASE!!!! I’ve been wanting to buy a house for 5 years now but it’s been put on hold for various reasons! Our home would need 1500-1700sq, at least 3 bedrooms, at least 1.1 bathrooms and a HUGE yard with trees and space for a garden and MAYBE a chicken coop-if I can convince my honey! Well, something along those lines would be great.

    HOMES ME!

We just moved and I really can’t complain. The only thing I would change would be to plunk our house down in the town our kids go to school in as opposed to the town we currently live in.

    HOMES ME!

I just bought a new house (a 1966 rancher) and since we have gutted almost the whole thing, I would say a finished house! One that doesn’t have to be stripped down to the bare bones to make it liveable.

HOMES ME! I would buy a home with a mudroom! I have 3 kids, which means 3 enormous backpacks & lots of shoes. I hate tripping over their stuff (because they tend to drop it in the doorway – it’s their own “mom obstacle course”).

We’d like a garage. When we bought our current house, we thought the converted garage was a bonus! Looking back- not so much! We need that storage space!

I would love some sort of portico/enclosed entryway so that the front door doesn’t just open into the living room. Or a dishwasher (or the space to install one).

What a great give-away and thanks so much for the opportunity! My “must have” for a new home would be to have everything on ONE level! We currently live in a split foyer so there are steps, steps and more steps – one level please! :-)

    HOMES ME!

My “want” list for our next home seems to be growing by the minute. Too bad our budget isn’t! I suppose one of the biggest things I’d look for is a first or second floor laundry room. I hate having to trudge into the “dungeon” every time we need to do laundry!

More square footage and a second or third bathroom. We currently only have one and it only has a shower; no tub and it’s terrible. Good thing we don’t have any kids yet.

HOMES ME! A quiet street in a neighborhood. Our current house has a great big yard, but it’s not fenced in (and the perimeter is quite hilly and we’ve had some fence companies laugh at us rather than give us quotes, sigh) and we live on a VERY main road. Did I mention we have two toddlers? Yeah. Sigh.

If we were to buy a new home, it’d have to be a ranch with a wonderful, open kitchen, gas stove, main floor laundry, and a master suite. Since we couldn’t find this house on the market, we’ve decided to add on to our current home and get all these things :) We’re in the middle of our big addition/reno right now!

If we were to buy a new house today…it’d be a hard decision between an amazing walk in closet (which would house our washer/dryer and a table where I could iron/fold with tooooons of shelving) or an awesome backyard where our puppy could play to her hearts content and where our (future) kiddos could play in! :)

If we were to buy a new house, I’d definitely want both a bigger kitchen, a fourth bedroom so our two littles didn’t have to share, and a master bath (or just two bathrooms, lol!). I don’t know how our parents did it back in the day living with five people and one bathroom!
