Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

HOMES ME! If I were buying a house I’d want something with a bedroom big enough for our king size bed and a dresser (which now resides in another room). I think a 12×12 would be an improvement (darn smaller roomed older homes).

    HOMES ME PLEASE!!!

We are in dire need of a larger kitchen, so that would top our list. We actually have grand ideas of a complete overhaul and new layout of our main living space to get us to the counterspace we oh so adore. BUT…..it’ll be awhile before that makes it into our budget. A girl can dream though….and plan….and make a list….right?

HOMES ME! I am looking for a single level house without stairs so my mom can come visit again. She can no longer walk up the three flights of stairs to my condo. Other than that, I am looking in the same area I live now, no flat roof, and no pool (too much maintenance even though I live in Arizona). Love your blog even though I’m not much of a DIYer!

Homes me! I would love a second bathroom with a tub! It must have a tub!! When I bought my home I was single and one little bathroom with just a shower seemed totally fine, but now that my boyfriend has lived with me for over a year and we have 3 dogs, my single-lady pad seems a bit tight. Having a second bathroom for guests to use when visiting has been needed a few times… and sometimes you just need to take a bath and relax. I really miss not having a tub.

HOMES ME! I currently live in an old 1890s carriage house. Although I love the exposed brick and historic nature, I would look for a home with more natural light. Plus, my cat loves nothing more than spending her day soaking up the sun and sights in any windowsill she can find.
