Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

Homes Dot Com Giveaway

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 5th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One

HOMES ME!! A screened in porch, definitely a screened in porch. With a ceiling fan. Oh, and ceiling fans on the front porch. Those southern summers are a beast.

I would love a shorter drive to work. Right now I am at about 45 minutes each way. However, I have a great job and love my current house.

My number one goal would be a cheaper monthly price tag! With my current rent of $1900 for a one bedroom apartment, wherever my next home will be and regardless of whether it’s a mortgage payment or rent bill every month it will be less money for a bigger space!!!

If I could, I’d take my current house and move it farther from the railroad tracks. When we built it 6 years ago there were only 2 trains that went by each day, so we thought we could live with it. After we built anohter rail company bought the tracks and now we get 20+ freight trains per day. Even though we are a few houses away from the tracks, the noise and vibrations are driving us bonkers!

HOMES ME, please!!!! So far we have had 5 homes on 3 different continents in the last 7 years. But each home has been great in its own way, but today what I look for in a house is a yard and a separate room to keep the toys. We can’t be too picky moving around and the search varies and your must haves vary by continent…in Africa we needed screens and central air in chile we need earthquake worthy construction. But in every house we get we try to make a home and the 500 usd will come in handy for our upcoming trip to Miami where I will get to see u at books and books! I plan on going crazy at homegoods
