Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

I would love to have a place with a garage or basement so I can have a seperate place for my ceramics and not have them scattered about. :)

A must have for our family is a big basement where we can put in a ballet floor and bar plus a tumbling mat. Two very active girls can outgrow even the largest of spaces!

HOMES ME! A better city/town, more square footage, another bathroom and another bedroom (currently 2 bed/1 bath). We love our house now, but know we will want a bigger one once we have kids (and a better school system to go with it!).

Next home would have an entry way big enough so that if more than one person came into the house in a five minute span there wouldn’t be a traffic jam of coats and boots and scarves and boots and bags and….
    Thanks !!!

Homes Me!! I love my house but, if I had it to do over again, I would look for a house with the master bedroom next to at least one other bedroom. Our two baby sons are across the main floor next to the kitchen which makes for a lot of wandering through the house at night. I have many stubbed toes to prove it! Thank you for the giveaway!

I would love for our next house to have a bigger kitchen (ours is currently the smallest room in the house) and a basemenet. With baby #3 on the way, I’d love to have a room that our family could hang out in without having the entire world view it when they enter our house!

HOMES ME! I currently live in a one bedroom apartment in Baltimore so I’ve got a long list :) a safe neighborhood not too far from work, any sort of outdoor space (even just a nice porch), a separate art studio for my partner (he currently works in the living room and it’s cramping both of our styles), and since I’m dreaming a second bedroom and bathroom would be lovely!

HOMES ME! My must have in my next home would definitely be 3 levels. I currently live in a raised ranch so our bathroom is down the hall with the bedrooms for everyone to see. I dream of having the bedrooms on an upper level and a carpeted basement for my kids to play in :)

I really need a bigger everything, so I would say square footage. I can hardly entertain guests because it is like I am cramming extra sardines into a can. However, if I were totally selfish and was getting something just for ME, I would buy a house with a swimming pool!

If I were to buy a house today — our MUST have would be either a 5th bedroom OR 4 bedrooms with a bonus room. We’re trying to squeeze our room, 2 kids rooms, a work from home office, and a guest room into a 4 bedroom house right now and it’s driving me bananas!

    HOMES ME!

This is easy as we just bought a new home a few months ago due to yet another relocation.
    Our must have list:
    1. master bathroom!!!!
    2. 4 or more bedrooms (big family)
    3. attached garage
    4. room for a shop (my man’s an excellent woodworker)

We’ve done the “old” house thing and renovated a Victorian. However, the relocation before this one the market was slim and we had to buy a brand new home! Honestly, we’d never go back. We love having a “new” home!!! There’s ample closets where they should be, normal bathrooms, attached garage, master bathroom, oh, and did I say NO MICE?!?!?!…..
