Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

Homes Dot Com Giveaway

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 5th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States & Canada.

The house we’re moving to in a few weeks has 2 bathrooms (yay!) and 50 more square feet, but I’d ditch those for a few more square feet and acreage in a heartbeat!

    HOMES ME!!!

As we decorated for Christmas I realized I would love to have a fireplace and mantel (don’t need a fire often in TX). Other than that I love our little home and am truly thankful for it!

Homes me! We’re currently in a townhouse which is fine, and I like the idea of small-footprint living. But I would love a bigger kitchen that opens to a nice backyard with a veggie garden.

A master bedroom with a walk-in closet would be super. Bigger closets in general, and more storage space, although this way I have to edit our stuff and that’s not all bad.

I think I would pick a house that is all ready to go, so probably newer with nice carpet and great colors on the wall, so I don’t have to do it. Great layout, big windows.

A garage would be a must. We need somewhere to store our snowblower, lawn mower, all those fun necessities… the helipad on top, well, that would just be a bonus.

I just bought a house a few months ago, and while I have lots of tweaks planeed, the one big thing I would do is repair the two story barn/garage, which has a lot of potential but is currently in great disrepair.

I want more space mostly. My living room is too small! After our two desks and desk chairs, the only seating we have room for is a small couch. It’s not so good for having friends and family over. The Mr. would like a shorter commute, but mine is unlikely to get any better unless I start working from home.

Currently the boy and I are looking for a new place, apartment though not grown up enough for a house, but we would love a loft with big windows, exposed brick and duct work everywhere. Also a rooftop terrace would be great but I’ll settle for a balcony. Homes me and I’ll decorate my pretty little loft with true YHL style : )
