Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

Homes Dot Com Giveaway

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 5th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One

Homes me! I would need something close to work but also with lots of historical charm. I love Arts and Crafts era homes, even the small ‘cheap’ ones :)

HOMES ME! I really do love my current house and plant to be here for a long time. The two things I really want are a screened porch off the back of the house, and a fire pit/tons of landscaping built into the hill in our back yard.

I love my smaller home because I get to live in it with my wonderful family, but it’s always nice to have some money to make it more beautiful!! I wouldn’t mind one multi-purpose/hangout/play room.

HOMES ME! If we were to buy a new house today, we’d look for one with better insulation (our house is always freezing) and a better layout (I don’t like how our bathroom is splat in the middle of the house — with TWO doors, one on each side! — and no dining room)

HOMES ME! I have yet to purchase a house but I am looking into moving out soon. Scary! My priority would be location, it has to be close enough to work because I’ sick of long commutes. I also really like an open floor plan.

So many desires! A linen closet, a walk in closet, a pantry closet, a real laundry room! In 1938, storage must not have been cool. TGFI (Thank God For IKEA)

    HOMES ME!
We are currently in the process of looking for a home and I think one of the biggest things to me is for it to feel like home from the very first look. I want to be able to imagine starting our marriage and having our kids grow up there and hosting holidays. It will be our first home so I’m so excited for all the memories we will build in a new home :)

I would never buy a new home or one recently renovated, the more run down the better. Of coarse I partially want a heap for the bargin price, but mostly I want as many projects to take on a possible!

Homes me please! I would love to live in Shell Beach, about 8 minutes north of us….you can walk along the shore and the weather is wonderful. If I could wish a bit more, a one story house with a bigger kitchen, a pantry and room for a big table to seat lots of family….nothing fancy, just more user friendly.
