Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

HOMES ME! My list includes: Close to work, close to the beach, architectural interest, good sized kitchen, good sized yard, and a major bonus would be a pool. But unfortunately, I’m still an apartment dweller, and will be for the foreseeable future. One day… :)

Homes me please! I’m not sure what I’d look for. We built our dream house a few years ago so I’m pretty darn tickled with what I have. Oh! A stacked rock fireplace. One thing we had to cut from the budget…

    HOMES ME!

We want our next home to be our last, so there’s a big list of must-haves. Everything is upgradeable over time, so top of our list is land–we want enough to have a huge garden and some goats and chickens, and still room for kids to play, and preferably a house with lots of green upgrade potential. A more normal thing I’ve really been wishing for lately is to have laundry NOT in the basement!

    Homes Me! :)

If I were to buy a home now, my “must-haves” would be to have a decent-sized closet in the master bedroom (I have never had one before) and at least 2 bathrooms. (I live on my own in a bachelor apartment so really, anything different would be a dream come true! Haha.)

    “HOMES ME!”

If we were to buy another house right now, I’d be looking for a few key things…more square footage (bedrooms), more acreage (I hate having neighbors right on top of us), a bigger kitchen, and a laundry room that has room to move in. Oh, and a bathtub I can actually take a relaxing bath in (as opposed to the tiny tubs in our current house that don’t quite cut it).

HOMES ME! I am currently preparing for a move across the country to a tiny little apartment, but if I could go buy a house tomorrow I totally would. The top must have would probably be a yard for a big dog. I’m tired of these little apartments not being suitable for big dogs!
