Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We’re going to be doing a little of both- we have a few parties to go to and will be hosting a few. In either case, we love a good game of white elephant- if it’s a bad gift, everyone gets a good laugh, if it’s good (like the Christmas book and Pottery Barn ornament we got last year), then it’s a fun suprise!

There is no place like home for the holidays! I will be hosting christmas eve with my family that has grown to @ 50 people give or take a few. It is a fun filled evening of eating drinking and being merry, o ya we do throw in a white elephant present exchange, we laugh so hard and always end up with something wonderful.

Z ME! My new husband of six months and I will be entertained by both sets of families on Christmas this year. My tips on being a good guest include offering to bring something (and most importantly, asking what is needed). If they prefer to do all the cooking, then a bottle of wine or champagne makes a nice thank-you gift. Also, don’t arrive too early and catch your hosts off-guard while they’re still preparing for the party, and don’t be so late that others aren’t waiting for you!

Z ME! We are having an annual xmas party at our house this year – definitely prefer to be the one to host. :)

    Tips:
If you’re going to a holiday party, it’s always nice to bring a little something, whether it’s a bottle of inexpensive wine, a handmade something sweet, or some store-bought goodies to enjoy immediately.

When I’m a guest at a party I try to always do the above. If I’m an overnight guest in someone else’s home, I always try to offer to help them out with preparing meals, last-minute decorating, etc…although I think the most important thing you can do is keep the hosts company with your positive holiday spirit.

Z ME! For the big stuff (the actual holiday) I still prefer to go home to my Mom and Dad’s house. I do host a small intimate gathering for my best girlfriends right around the holidays. Next year, Hubby and I are going to attempt to host Thanksgiving for my family. Yikes!

I would love to host now that I have the space and furniture to do it! My tip as a hostess having a lot of guests over is to put out the disposable hand towels in the bathroom, and of course, make sure there’s soap. Nothing skeeves me out more at a party than no soap and a wet, disheveled hand towel!

We will be doing a bit of both this holiday season: entertaining in our home and visiting family in their homes. Best hostess tip: have music playing softly in the background and keep the house warm, but not too warm. People like to be comfortable! In terms of being a guest, we always bring a little gift, such as wine, cookies, a candle, or a plant.

    Happy Holidays!

I love, love, love these mercury glass treats! I found your blog about two months ago and have been a decorating fool every since. With your site in mind, I headed to Homegoods a few weeks ago and picked up bits for my mantle—a lovely vase and candles in a soothing greenish blue and some mercury glass jars and pillar candle holders–which all look lovely against my gray-painted fireplace. Thank you for inspiring me!

And thanks for the chance to win some more mercury glass loveliness.

I’ll be hosting my family for Christmas Eve dinner. Since my mom’s husband is Italian, I’ll be serving the “seven fish of Christmas,” which for us means steamed shrimp, raw oysters, sauteed and fried calamari, and mini crab cakes as appetizers, and grilled salmon and linguine with mussels and clams. I can’t wait!!
