Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We’re in the process of moving this year, so the hosting will have to wait until 2010. On Thanksgiving, I noticed how much I love the smell of the holiday right when I walk into a dinner/party… and then was pleasantly surprised when the host sent all her guests home with the same candle we’d enjoyed all night!

Our week-ends are already full with every one else’s get togethers. I guess this year I will sit this one out as host and just enjoy. Plus I will maybe get some new ideas as to how others entertain and decorate.

Considering I could only fit approximately 3.2 people in my apartment before we suck up all the oxygen, I will be the gracious guest and not the hostess with the mostess! My biggest tip for being a gracious guest is to be flexible. If the food isn’t the way you would like it, smile and say “Thank you” anyway. If someone wants to talk about an subject you aren’t comfortable discussing, smile and change the subject. The holidays are about being together, not about being the center of attention or about having everything YOUR way.

I am so into all things shiny and glitzy during the holidays. I love to entertain at home, but we usually have to travel for the holidays, so I just decorate my house to the nines and enjoy it with my family of four. When I go to someone’s home for Christmas or Thanksgiving, I always make sure to bring something for the hostess, such as cookie decorating items, or an apron, or something related to food, because we all know how much eating goes on during the holidays…

Sadly we never really get to have Christmas at our home, always at the in-laws. My child will be 9 yrs old this year, and next year I insisted we have Christmas at home. I think it is important for your children to have memories of holidays at home, but instead you seem to always be walking a fairness tightrope.

My family owns a Christmas Shop! We make entertaining decorations possible for everyone. And run ourselves ragged in the process, considering we all work fulltime jobs beside it, and most of us have birthdays in December as well as the holidays themselves! But we still have a traditional Italian Christmas Eve seafood feast. Mom always aims for the seven fishes, but we can’t get all of them in our location, and she usually tuckers out after 3 or 4 and a few drinks!

My husband and I are very excited to be returning to the Midwest to spend Christmas with our families. I think one of the best (and hardest) things you do can as a guest is go by the flow of whomever’s home you are in. Trying to go by your own schedule only makes everyone frustrated.

I’m hoping to host this year, especially after all of the time I’ve spent decorating for the holidays. Considering we closed on our home 12/23 last year, the only thing in the house on Christmas was the tree and nativity set.

Z ME! I am both the entertainer and the entertainee this year for Christmas. Christmas eve I will play the hostess for my mom’s side of the family. Then, on Christmas day, I will be a guest at my grandpas house. I think the only thing you need to be a good entertainer and/or guest is a cheerful holiday spirit and a smile!

I plan on entertaining a bit for the holidays (a casual get-together with friends). My entertaining tip is to always have a few items around for those unexpected guests: cheese, crackers, dried fruit, and nuts can be thrown together pretty effortlessly, but make you look like you planned for guests.

I’ll be happily entertained by someone else this year, I think. Either way, I think the best host/guest should always keep the spirit of the season on their mind and in their heart. Everything you do from there will flow.
