Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I have already entertained for Thanksgiving and will be again on the 12th for a “Have yourself a merry little cocktail” party. Our spin on desserts: SMORES! Guests bring their own stick and we provide the rest! Plus, AZ winters are delightful – we love to be outside!

No hosting here… We’ve been living in Hawaii for a year now- Christmas will be our first trip back to the bitter cold midwest and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Wine, cookies and ornaments are my fav holiday hostess gifts to give (okay, and receive :) hah)..

I would love to entertain this year, unfortunately it’s just not happening. We just sold our house and are in a very small space until next year. It will be great letting someone else do all the work, though!

    Z ME! Z Us!
We love to entertain, be it a last minute gathering of friends and neighbors for a quick dinner/cocktails/evening of fun, kids, dogs, politics and movie talk, or a grown-ups – only (okay maybe one eight year old) relaxing evening with close friends, catching up, and maybe just vegging together with some popcorn and hot chocolate in front of an old movie, or taking a night swim under the stars. It’s always warm enough here in California to do that! We will be entertaining at our house as well as visiting others.
Tip: Always arrive with something thoughtful and useful for your hosts. Don’t bring flowers if they probably already have enough of those. Ask what you can bring, and if your gracious host says “just you” — bring something anyway, even if it’s a box of fancy cookies, or if you bake something special, or a nice bottle of wine. It shows you care and it shows you have good manners.
For people who come to our house- remember to introduce strangers, or re-introduce people who may not know one another well. As part of your introduction, say something nice and interesting about each person. It helps them know a bit about one another, and about the context of your connections, and breaks the ice for them to talk to one another. I learned this from a friend who works in the US Embassy. Works like a charm And everybody likes to talk about themselves, so you’re bound to have a noisy, happy roomful of guests!
    Enjoy the holidays.

Our home is in no condition to host guests but we can’t wait until it is! I think the trick is to try and make sure your guests are comfortable. If they’re spending the night -“Is it warm enough in here for you? Here’s where the extra blankets are in case you get cold. Bathroom’s down the hall; here are some towels if you want to shower. Cups are in the cabinet over the counter. Help yourself to anything in the fridge.”

Be gracious about accommodating them {like turning the thermostat up if they keep their house a little warmer then we do}.

I love entertaining small gatherings but prefer to spend Christmas traditionally in my family home. I think to be a courteous guest always bring a host gift and do your part in the clean up. To be an amazing host make sure your guests have clean linens and know where to find extra TP or ibuprofen if needed. A stocked fridge is always nice too.

We did our holiday hosting at Thanksgiving and will be taking a break to gear up for our annual Superbowl party in Feb.
While I’m new at the hosting arena, I’m learning that as long as you have food for people the rest comes pretty easily.

We may or may not have a Christmas shindig at our place. It all depends on if we can get the house spic and span and cheery beforehand, but even if we don’t get to entertain, we are heading to Colorado to spend this Christmas in a cabin!! Yay!
