Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I prefer to host myself, but as the youngest in our families we don’t often. My tip is to always bring the hostess a gift and/or food or drinks to share.

BTW, these giveaway items coordinate perfectly with the winter display I’m going to put on my buffet next week!

We will be traveling this holiday season, so sadly, no hosting for me! One hosting tip that has worked great for me, spread the food/drinks out through out the main areas of the house, so people aren’t all drawn to one room the whole night.

Z Me! We’ll be hosting a holiday cheer party this year to have a chance to break out the holiday cookie cutters and the great serving pieces we recieved for our wedding this past summer! I always love it when guests bring something festive to add to the party. Some of our friends aren’t the greatest in the kitchen but always bring fun hats, paper products, or a game for all to play.

My advice…I always appreciate thoughtful hostess gifts but am so grateful when a good friend shows up a bit early to help put out last minute platters and hang coats.

We’ll be heading home to the Lou- St. Louis, that is for Christmas with my family this year. Lots of kids and craziness, but so fun to carry on with old family traditions. Some year soon, as our kids get older, it would be nice to be home for Christmas to start our own traditions, but it will come!

Here’s my simple decor tip. As the guests are walking up the driveway, grab a pretty bowl. Grab floating candles and toss them into the bowl. Rip open a package of fresh cranberries and pour them in. Put in water, light candles, and voila, centerpiece by the time the doorbell rings!

Z ME! I always like to contribute to the meal. Even if your hostess says he/she doesn’t need you to bring anything, I usually show up with flowers. Even after the holiday party is over, your hostess can enjoy the flowers and remember how much friends and family appreciate his/her hard work.

Oh, wait. Wrong song! LOL … Let’s just say: Z ME with your glittery goodness. Mercury glass, I have fallen under your spell.

Going to decorate at home, and be a good guest elsewhere. How to be a good guest in a nutshell: Show up on time but not TOO punctual (Personally, I’m always doing my makeup or some last-minute household “triage” when hosting). Take some expensive edibles as a hostess gift for them to enjoy then or later. Be your fabulous self (merry and bright!). Help clean up afterward. Leave when the hosts start yawning. … And to all a good night.

I cook up a storm whenever we have company, so I really appreciate it when people help with the dishes and I try to do the same if I’m at another family members house for the holiday’s.
