Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We are both entertaining family and going to visit family during the holiday season. I don’t have many tips other than to say – enjoy the time with family and friends – don’t stress about the food, decor, etc…so much. VALUE what’s really important!

Z ME! We are hosting Christmas at our house and I am so looking forward to decorating! In order to do flooring, fireplace, and kitchen projects, we put away everything pretty (well, really, just everything). After what seems like forever, I can’t wait to finish (SOON!) and get ready for the holidays!

Since we just welcomed our little one into the world on Thanksgiving Day, I am hoping to just be a visitor with baked goods in hand this year! My biggest tip for party hosting (which I LOVE to do!) is name tags! We always try to invite a few new faces and have noticed that name tags help with conversations among new friends so nicely! We usually make them festive and fun by including a favorite quote or sports team, etc along with the guest’s name!

We will be at my Mom’s for Christmas. But, my tip for entertaining would be to personalize personalize personalize! While we were in Niagara Falls on a wine tasting tour, we saw these cute little stick-ons that you attach to your wine glass…with different festive pictures. Each person is designated a design…reindeer, wreath etc. Loved that idea!

I L-O-V-E entertaining, but Christmas has always been my Aunt’s gig, but I sure do know how to be a good guest. Not only do I try to help as much as possible but I think it’s always important to bring something, even if they tell you not to. I love bringing a dessert or fresh flowers!

Z Me!! Our Christmas is usually at my mother’s house where four generations descend on Christmas Eve. With so many of us we decided a few years ago to do away with traditional gift giving. Everyone now brings a $2 or $3 wrapped gift (gag or otherwise) and we sit in a big circle, presents piled on the floor in the middle, and play a dice game to see who gets which gifts. (We always have extras so no one is left out.) It’s loads of fun to see what creative ideas people come up with.

“Z ME!” Please. We’re doing both, best hostess gift…clean up after yourself and help out where you can. Best hosting tip, have water bottles on the nightstands and guest robes in the bathroom…nothing worse than trying to put jeans on a damp body, except for an unexpected streaker from bathroom to guestroom. =-)

I have been hosting a small Christmas gathering every year. The past few years I have rushed home from work and got stressed trying to get everything together. This year, I scheduled it for the weekend and made it a more casual event.

Then we will be heading to my husband’s sister for Christmas dinner, and his Grandma’s for Christmas dessert! Family Togetherness! I like to remind myself that hospitality isn’t always about your house being perfect or formal, it’s just about making sure people feel welcome!

Z ME! My husband and I will be hosting our sixth annual Holiday party this year, and every year it gets a little bigger. This year he’ll be dressing up as Santa for pictures with the kids, and we’ll also continue the tradition we started last year of asking all of our guests to bring an unwrapped toy for donation to a local children’s hospital.

Z ME! I’d say the best tip for being a courteous guest is to speak up and nicely ask your host/hostess for what you need. I’ve been in that position and it makes me feel happy that they’re not going without something just because they would feel silly asking for it. Hey, I’m human. I’m bound to forget something they need. =)
