Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I *am* planning on entertaining this Christmas … even if my kitchen will still look like a construction zone!

Z ME! Argh! I love these!

I wish we were entertaining at our house this year. We’ve been working hard on it and want to show it off. :) But my sister’s house is more convenient for everyone to fly into… so there we are.

The most important entertaining thing I’ve learned is to make it easy for people to circulate. The nature of the event changes how that’s done, but setting things up so people have to mingle and talk and visit with new people… that makes a great event.

We are hosting a party for friends the weekend before Christmas, but end up driving around town on Christmas Evee and day to my parents’ house and my husband’s family’s houses. We just hit them all up and try not to eat too much :)

“Z-Me” – please! As others have stated, I, too, prefer to be entertained. I am not particularly good at entertaining. I do it, but am not organized at all and really stress. The tips you two give are extremely helpful, however. Congrats on the new addition to the fam, by the way.

    I love Z Gallerie!

This year, I hope to be entertained. I just broke my arm and I’m not really able to do too much in the baking, cooking, and decorating department this year, unfortunately.

However, as a usual hostess, I would say that one of my best tips would be to plan ahead, prep early, and make things as simple as possible (while still yummy, of course) so that you can enjoy the time with your guests. Otherwise, why in the heck are you working your rear off???

Helpful hints for guests: Help out by volunteering yourself. Take out the trash. Wash some dishes. Help package up the leftovers. Not only will you be making life easier on the host and hostess while you’re there, you’ll be having a ton of fun chatting with whomever else is there working by your side. And be sure to spend at least five minutes with the hosts. After all, you wouldn’t want them to not have really felt your presence in their home, right?

    Z ME!

We bought our first house back in March, and after years of spending the holidays at their house, this will be the first time *we’ll* entertain my boyfriend’s family coming to our own house! It’s nerve wracking thinking about it, but I think it’ll turn out to be a great experience.

They’re from a different culture, so it’ll be fun mixing my WASP traditions with their Asian traditions–I just hope I don’t insult anyone!

We normally don’t host on holidays since our families are a bit large and our house is a bit small :( I would love to do some kind of dessert/mulled wine or hot cocoa get together at my home this year though…we have more room to mingle, less room to actually sit and have a meal. I love being a guest as well and usually bring a bottle of wine to thank the host.

Z ME! We’re newlyweds & there is nothing we enjoy more than breaking out out new china/serving platters & playing host/hostess for the night! We absolutely love to entertain. A tip for entertainers- always offer your guests a drink when they first arrive. Throughout the night be sure to ask your guests whether you can get them anything.
