Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I’ll be happy to be a guest at holiday parties this year, but we’ll probably host some small gatherings as well. I love planning menus so that there is something for everyone on the guest list (veggies and vegans and carnivores, all)!

I’ll be hosting Christmas this year since my parents hosted Thanksgiving. I think the best “trick” is to start with some fun appetizers and good wine. If everything else falls apart at least your guests aren’t starving…and are already feeling festive with wine.

For the first year ever, I’ll be hosting a splendid holiday soiree for all my nearest and dearest! The wheels are already turning but I see lots of candles, glitter, ornaments in unexpected places (like outside in our poor, bare trees) and plenty of sparkle in my decor scheme!

I am looking forward to a quiet year with just family. We’ve had our party hosting years and party going years and I like them all!! One thing that I love to do (not very original but I grew up with it at the holidays) when people come over and when it’s just us is apple cider on the stove – Cinnamon, Apple Juice, Cloves, Nutmeg, Orange Juice…even if we don’t drink it, it makes the house smell WONDERFUL!! The smell of Christmas!!

Z ME! i love these, how pretty!

we never do holidays at my place, because my husband & i don’t even have a table to eat on! (we recently turned our dining room into an office, because that is just more important when one is in grad school.) our holidays are hectic, we travel a lot between our families in one day. but the one thing that we do during all of the craziness is to be sure to not let each of our families know how hectic it is for us. our time spent with them is special, and it would be cheapened if we made them feel rushed or not as important as another member of the family. :)

Z ME! This will be our first holiday season in our new home. Sounds romantic…but really its full of dust! We are renovating and doing most of the work ourselves…including wallpaper removal, sanding down textured ceilings, renovating a bathroom and installing hardwood floors. Who knew working on an old house could be so fun! Thanks for all the encouragement and fresh ideas YHL!

I always like to bring something for the hostess that can be used at the party and something they can have for later. For example, a bottle of wine for the party and a few great bottle stoppers attached or a wheel of brie with grapes on a small wood cutting board.

We love to entertain at our house, but also love to be entertained by others :) We keep it simple when entertaining at home so there is low stress. To be a good guest we always take a “thank you” hostess gift and try not to be too intrusive (no peeking in places that are “closed”).

This year we are hosting EVERYONE at our house. It’s our first Christmas in our own home, so we want to celebrate here, plus with a 2 year old and a 4.5 year old, it’s much easier for them to get up, open presents, get dressed and spend their day playing with all their new loot.
