Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I typically spend the holidays at my grandmother’s house. My Mama always taught me to bring a hostess gift if I were staying with someone or attending a big celebration. It can be something simple like candy or a gift basket. It’s just a way of letting them know you appreciate them.

We are planning on having Christmas at our house this year. It will be my first time hosting it. We usually just go to my Mom & Dads since hubby’s family lives way down south. But this year, we are both graduating for our BSM on Dec 19th and everyone will be here.

We’re the one couple in our extended family that live outside the state, so we get to be entertained when we go home for holidays. Since we couldn’t make it for Thanksgiving, one of my hubby’s co-workers had us over, and it meant a lot to spend the day with a family rather than just us two.

I plan on doing both. I will be a guest at two holiday parties this year. I almost always bring the hostess a gift- this year it will be bottles of wine from a local winery and bottle stops with their monogram on the top- only about $25 for the whole gift!

This is my first year out of my parents house, so I would love to host a New Year’s Day dinner. When I was younger we used to go to my grandmother’s every year and have ham, pineapple stuffing and ambrosia. We don’t do that anymore, but I am itching to bring back the tradition!

I love to host holiday gatherings. This year I have a new house with an open floor plan and I can’t wait to start entertaining. My secret is to make sure everyone feels comfortable. I try to keep my eye out for the person sitting alone and make sure to introduce them to someone new or help them fit into a conversation. Make sure the lighting is soft, the food is warm and the drinks are merry. It’s that easy!

We always do Christmas at home with one side of the family, then we go to an aunt’s house to celebrate with the other side before or after the actual day of Christmas. Either way, it’s a feast!

We are not hosting any gatherings this year. I’m kinda bummed about that. Last year we had several. But this year, we have a 4 month old, so we decided to let everyone else entertain us this time!

When I host – especially for the holidays – I like everyone to leave with something. Last year, I had jars of a dessert mix (s’mores in a jar). It was simple, and it got rave reviews!

This year, my husband and I are splitting our time between my parent’s house and his parent’s house…. which is going to add up to be alot of driving! I always like to bring a Christmas-y scented candle or a plateful of Christmas cookies to the host’s house. It’s a nice, yet inexpensive way to thank the hosts for their hospitality.

I love Z Gallerie, it is my favorite place to shop for home accessories. I saw those votives last week and loved them…sure would enjoy winning the set! Entertaining advise #1: keep the food simple (per Ina Garten), do as much ahead as you can, ask people to bring things and enjoy your company. Advice #2: place votive candles (scent free) throughout your table and in your living room, the sparkle creates a wonderful atmosphere.

I like to have do a little bit of both, hosting some (as long as the group’s not too big for our little house) and taking advantage of others’ hospitality the rest of the time. When people are over my favorite thing is when they clean up. Oh, how I hate washing wine glasses.

I will not be hosting Christmas dinner this year. But next year will be my fiance’s and mine first Christmas together as husband and wife, so I definitely want to host it for our families then. In terms of being a good guest, I always try to help cook, clean, or anything else I can do to help out!

I LOVE have a big huge Holiday party every year – it’s such a great opportunity to see friends and family… A good tip is to make as much as possible ahead of time and also set up all the food displays ahead of time – then all you have to do is heat up the food and put it in place!

We bought our house specifically because it was great for entertaining. My husband’s family is all local, and we generally end up with around 20 people at a time. With a big kitchen and lots of space to spread out, we love having everyone over this time of year!

    “Z-ME Please!”

It’s a hobby & passion of mine to host get together’s at my house. I love getting all the credit from the table setting to the decorative throw pillows. I plan to host my family and friends and my husbands side of the family at my home for Christmas. Also, it’s our first Christmas in our new home so I have really went above and beyond. I put up two Christmas tree’s and made mini tree’s from bottle brush and placed them in each room. Gold balls dangle from the chandeliers this year and a Santa hat made into a lampshade. I also handstitched my own apron, as the perfect hostess should adore a lovely apron while serving her many guests. What makes it all so special though is that both my new husband and I share in the joy of opening our house up for those we care about. We work as a team to make sure everyone is comfortable in our home and enjoys them self while they are here. Most of all we want them to feel as they are “home away from home”. Whether that means taking their shoes off and kicking back or gathering around the fireplace to really get in the Christmas spirit!
